For more than 10 years the Hope and Glory has been almost a second home for me whenever I came to visit my parents either from Kiawah Island, SC or Big Sky, Montana. There is a certain charm at the H&G that simply cannot be replicated. The owners, Dudley and Peggy Patterson are dear friends and as long as I have reason to be in the glorious Northern Neck of Virginia I will always visit the Hope and Glory!

Went for wine tasting and oysters and enjoyed it. Also enjoyed meeting to owner who is quite colorful and likes to personally meet his quests.

We took a last-minute trip to Irvington on our way to northern Virginia. We called the Hope & Glory Inn the day before and they were very welcoming and happy to accommodate us! It was a most pleasurable and relaxing experience. The owners, Peggy and Dudley, are exceptional hosts and made us feel as though we were in our own home. Highly recommend the Hope & Glory Inn!!

My husband and I have stayed at Hope and Glory Inn twice now, and it’s truly our favorite escape. From the moment you arrive, you’re treated as so much more than just a guest. The owners genuinely get to know you and even remember you by name and voice from a simple phone call—that level of personal connection is rare and makes every stay feel special.

The environment is peaceful and quiet, the cottages are cozy and romantic, and the pool is the perfect spot to unwind. Every morning, breakfast is delivered right to your cottage, and it is absolutely unforgettable—I come home craving it! Dinner is just as incredible, with food that feels like it belongs in a five-star restaurant.

Hope and Glory Inn is everything we need: intimate, welcoming, and the perfect escape from reality. Each visit leaves us refreshed, spoiled, and already planning our return.

We had an unforgettable stay at Hope and Glory Inn, thanks to the incredible hospitality of Peggy and Dudley. From the very first phone call to the bittersweet goodbye, they made us feel like family.

Each morning, breakfast was delivered to our room, and it was delicious, unique, and always something to look forward to. Peggy’s culinary creations were scrumptious and a true culinary gem that made each morning special.

On Saturday morning, we booked the True Love charter with Captain Dudley, who shared fun facts along the way. The intimate group of just six made the experience even more special.

Heather’s warm and attentive care in the evenings added to our enjoyment and ensured a smooth, stress-free experience. We had a great time at Detention Bar at night, meeting and chatting with other guests, which made the trip even better.

The pool was beautiful and just what we needed for a relaxing afternoon soak. Don’t forget to stop by The Dog and Oyster Micro Vineyard and Oyster Bar for a glass of wine and fresh oysters, a perfect way to unwind and savor the best of the region.

We also heard amazing things about Chef Meseret Crockett, who was abroad in France and London, adding to her culinary talents while we stayed. Though we didn’t get to meet her this time, everyone in town raves about her dinners. We can’t wait to come back, reserve a dinner, and meet her in person.

Thank you, Peggy and Dudley, for making Michael's and my weekend so relaxing and enjoyable. Hope and Glory Inn is a five-star experience all the way. We look forward to returning!

I just spent my 60th birthday at Hope and glory with my two sisters and my daughter. It could not have been any more spectacular! Dudley, Peggy, and Stuart were the perfect hosts! The cottage we stayed in could not have been any more perfect! The delicious gourmet breakfast, served to our door every morning was an added bonus. We started our trip with cocktails at the pool and ended it with Peggy making wonderful concoctions in Detention. We enjoyed wonderful conversations with Dudley and Peggy and realized there are no strangers, only friends you have not yet met. They are definitely two new friends!. Our only regret is that their restaurant, the Colonade, was not open at the time we were there so that gives us the perfect reason to go back. Thank you for making our weekend absolute perfect! See you soon!

We both really enjoyed our stay here in one of their cottages. Dudley and Peggy really care about their guests. The property and grounds are in excellent shape. They have a micro winery on site which is unique and the wine is delicious!

If you haven’t been to Irvington, it’s really cool. Extremely small but lots of good options for food, activities, and drinks. Don’t hesitate to book here.

I cannot put into words how much we love Hope & Glory. We have stayed almost annually for our anniversary and we find it to be so charming and sweet. We love cabin 6 for the space and king size bed. The outdoor shower is such a great touch and we use it almost nightly. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and we love dining at The Colonnade with Meseret. Our favorite thing to do is explore Irvington on the bikes. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Irvington!

Always a wonderful and delicious experience to dine at The Colonnade restaurant at the Hope & Glory Inn, esp for special occasions. Chef Meseret Crockett is top-notch, and it's fun to visit with her after the meal. Maitresse d' Heather is delightful and helps make the evening a memorable experience.

There are no enough stars to express how wonderful our stay was at Hope & Glory. The owners, Peggy & Dudley are fantastic - they are the ultimate in hospitality. The Chef is fabulous and we highly recommend having at least one dinner at the Colonade. The food is delicious; the preparation divine. Everything from the rooms to the homemade breakfasts to the surrounding environs was fabulous. We highly recommend at least a weekend at Hope & Glory
