What a nice shop, too! Decent prices, lots of stuff hard to find elsewhere, and then there is the restaurant inside. Worth a visit if you're in the area at all.”

“My husband and I came in town for the weekend for a family gathering and a graduation from CAP military function. This was very last minute and we googled a bakery called Taa Daa bakery. Not only did she meet all our needs with our cupcakes that we have to order last minute day before she was very accommodating in being available for changes of those cupcakes and also with us picking them up during a time when she was closed. We were very comfortable talking with her. She’s a very sweet lady that once you talk to her, you feel like she’s someone you can reach out to it anytime my husband and I love places that take the time out to really get to know you and make you feel like you’re not a bother. Blackstone Virginia is where she is located. if you’re going through or visiting, make sure you stop by and try her outstanding flavors that she has of cupcakes and other stuff that she has till we see you again Jan friends always Kimberly and Michael.”

“Came in because the online photos of their menu showed they had salads. Specifically a chicken Cobb salad.
It was huge, and delicious. Topped with freshly fried chicken breast, cut into manageable strips with ranch dressing on the side, and half a sliced avocado, I’m slightly disappointed I live so far away and can’t have this regularly.
After a week of pizza and Mexican food, I was genuinely appreciative of this.
From the moment I walked in, the server told me to sit anywhere, which happens to be near the stage and live music.
It was a busy night, so the food took a bit to arrive, but I was warned this would happen when I ordered. Still, the server made sure I was never ignored and kept my drink filled as I watched the crowd interact with the singer. I, too,listened to the music while reading a book. It was quite a nice place to sit and enjoy the atmosphere.
After the salad, I asked about the dessert options. An older photo of their menu had something which they no longer had, so I ended up with a large piece of pineapple coconut cake. I can’t say I’ve ever had this particular combination, but at this moment, I’m wanting another one.

If you can’t tell, I highly recommend this restaurant for the lively entertainment, the delicious food, and their selection of local beer offerings.”

“Went in a day for the first time in a few years to sit down and eat after discovering that the dine-in is back open since COVID ended up with a waitress named Megan maybe Morgan who was an absolute delight she was very attentive spoke to us even though they had numerous phone calls and people at the checkout she maintained her composure she waited on us gave us an amazing service there are some people out there who are truly meant to work in customer service and she is one of them Will definitely come back and dine in if she's working the floor The inside could use a little updating the booths are a little torn up and they've got older chairs which are really hard but overall was an amazing experience cannot wait to go back now that I have found a new favorite server at an old-time restaurant”

“Very cute and clean local spot! Jerk chicken was juicy and FALL OFF THE BONE with the perfect amount of heat! The sausage was my favorite-crispy but juicy and super flavorful! The pulled pork was good- but really to our surprise took a back seat to the others. The sides and apps were phenomenal-we had the spiral potatoes, cabbage and collards and all were flavorful and perfectly cooked! Tara, one of the owners was super sweet and personable and made sure when enjoyed our experience! (Also the home made cakes looked amazing but we were stuffed!!). We will be back!!”

“I got some muffins so I can have a ready made breakfast for Shabbat tomorrow so I will update when I eat them. I also got some cinnamon bun cheese cake and it was so delicious I’m googling words to define it! Palatable, satisfying, gratifying, well pleasing, delectable, well accomplished and so much more! It had such a perfect balance! It was not the type of overly sweet where you get sick it was just the right everything to want another bite over and over! (I am not big on sweets at all). The cheese cake was done perfectly wasn’t too mushy or too hard the right textures and consistency making it such a well balanced delicious desert! Well worth it! I was going to take a picture but I couldn’t stop eating it!”

“First time at Mitchell’s. The hush puppies were so great I got seconds (and thirds)! Also, tried the tasty Greek gyro which was a nice surprise to find in a small town. Friendly, helpful owners. Next time I’m in town I’ll go back!”

“The floor under our table was nasty and when we sat down I sunk to the bottom of the seat because theres no support when I sat in the booth and, although the server was very nice, she spent more time on her phone and eating at the countertop than she did checking on us and the food was very blah. No flavor to the chicken on my grilled chicken sub. The prices were INSANE! $50 for a club with sweet potato fries, a grilled chicken sub with fries, and a side salad. I also asked my 2yr granddaughter what kind of fries she wanted us to split with our grilled chicken sub and we decided on sweet potato fries. An entire order of sweet potato fries was sat down in front of my granddaughter and I had regular fries with my sub, which we're never discussed, and I got charged $7 for a plate of fries I didn't even order!”

“Been coming here for years. Food is always fresh, made to order. The owner, a woman runs the store by herself. Be patient with her. My favorite thing to order is the fried oyster box. Crispy, fresh.”

“This is my favorite restaurant. I walked at least a mile once to get the food during a parade. I call them up with the exact same order every time and they know what I want as soon as I call. I don't know if they have me in the caller ID as the "pork fried rice no onions & scallops guy" but for some reason... they know. Prices are great, food is amazing, if I want chinese food (which is a little too often) then this is the place.”

“I love how soft their bread is, unlike some subways. Sometimes service is a hit or miss (especially when there's this certain guy there that acts like he hates to fix any sub). I mean it's SUBWAY!!?”

“I want to give a huge shout-out to Dewayne, the manager at this McDonald's, for his exceptional professionalism and leadership during a busy breakfast rush.

The drive-through line was wrapped around the building, and curbside pickup was packed. Despite the chaos, Dewayne stayed calm, focused, and incredibly polite. I had actually made a mistake on my own end with my order, but instead of making me feel bad or brushing me off, he worked with me patiently and quickly to fix it.

Watching him manage his team was impressive—he was directing staff, answering questions, and handling customers with total respect, all while making sure the line kept moving. It's clear he sets the tone for great service even when things are hectic.

“The best subway I've been to in the area. The one in south hill is pretty good too, never tried blackstone, farmville was awful.

Prices are standard for subway. Nothing surprising. Food is good though and the owner is really laid back and cool.”

“Had to wait just a few minutes but I could see how the crew was working. I'm glad I waited. Me and my fiancè were coming here for lunch after a long drive and the place was clean and the food looked exactly how it does in the pictures. On my receipt, it says the cashier's name was Schreal. I didn't ask if it was the gentleman's name because he was assisting others as I was walking out. But he was wonderful!! Very sweet and excellent for customer service for the wait we had and how many people were in the restaurant and also in the drive thru. My fiancè even said he was happy. I really liked the atmosphere we had received.”
