Not t a good representation of Cajun culture at all ! I was very disappointed eating here .I’m from Louisiana and was looking forward to eating here and getting a taste of home . The food was made completely wrong . The gumbo was the only thing that was made right and it was ok . No southern hospitality, the workers aren’t from there either they had no idea what I was talking about when I said where I was from which is a major city in the state that anyone from there would know . They weren’t very friendly and came across as rude . I feel like a bunch of people just got together and just googled Cajun cuisine and took a shot at it . At least that’s how it felt eating the food .

PROS: Our first visit to The Garage on King. On a Monday and not all the stalls were open but I'm glad we selected BAYOUNOLA because our meals were delish! I had the Shrimp Etouffee and hubby had The Gumbo. I'm not an expert on nawlins food but this does "seem" authentic. Drink choices are limited at this eatery but they're forgiven because they have Beignets! CONS: Not the cheapest eats for lunch and the ambience leaves much to be desired but the concept of the garage is unique. Its seat yourself and the chairs are very hard on the booty so be aware of that! You can ignore the posters instruction to order online at the door and just go directly to the vender. At least that's what we did!

This place is one option in a garage of food, that being said its very easy to get to. Being a Louisiana native I was wary to try gumbo in West Virginia but this is some of the best gumbo ive ever had, top 5 for sure. This is truly a 5/5 everything was perfect, full of protein, full of flavor. The service was amazing I will be back!!

The dishes at Bayou Nola took me back to my hometown of New Orleans. The Shrimp Ettouffe' was very tasty and not overly seasoned but yet spicy to the point where no hot sauce or Tabasco was needed. And the Hot Sausage was lively but not too hot for the palette. Service was prompt. The entire experience at BayouNola was well worth the drive from Germantown, Md.

Just had the shrimp etouffe, bayou gumbo, and pork boudain. Conclusion: yaaaaaaas! Authentic--husband's family is from Louisiana & they are into Creole food. He keeps repeating, "authentic." They don't skimp on the shrimp--the etouffe is chock full of big shrimp. CHOCK FULL. Boudain is awesome. Gumbo is awesome. The food is flavorful and not terribly spicy--you can actually taste the various flavors instead of burning out your tongue. Hubs in background still repeating, "authentic authentic." Right now open for pick up/delivery 2x/week--Friday/Saturday evening limited hours (I think that's correct).

Order and you will not be disappointed! The last trip my husband and I took pre COVID was to New Orleans and ordering from Bayou Nola tasted like we were back there again. The gumbo is a classic that was perfect on a cold fall evening. The shrimp etouffee knocked my socks off, big juicy Gulf shrimp in a scrumptious sauce over rice, the whole family loved it. The portions were all generous and sized for more than one meal. Unfortunately I enjoyed my food so quickly that I forgot to take a photo! The front porch delivery was convenient and we left out a cooler. This is a local small business so another reason to support!
