My wife and I went to Lexington for our anniversary and planned to go to the brewery for part of our celebration as we love craft beer. We rushed through dinner so we could make it to Heliotrope for a beer before they closed. We walked there in the pouring rain, literally, and arrived 24 minutes before closing time to find a locked door and three employees drinking beer at the bar inside. We knocked and one of them came over to tell us they closed early and could not allow us to come in, kitchen was closed, even after we said we didn't want anything from the kitchen...just one beer.
One of my favorite spots in Lexington, great beers and tasty pizzas!
We stopped in for a quick drink when we were in the area. The beer I had was very good (and the mineral water on tap they serve was good enough that it it worth a shout out). The bartender was very friendly and helpful. The vibe is modern/open.
Was excited to try the pizza, we were driving through and waited two hours of driving just to eat here and it was closed for a private event. Would have been nice to update the hours or the website before being surprised that they were completely closed on a Saturday evening.
Best, fresh ingredients and good beer. Simple. Perfection.
On 8/31 a whole Karen came in and tried to order around someone that was only trying to help let kitchen staff know they had forgot someone in their party had a food allergy- this woman was so rude and demanding and the staff had the best response I’ve ever seen! Not only did they continue to tell her that person was not an employee but that if they continued the behavior they would have to leave because harassment is not tolerated! I cannot commend the staff enough for the excellent service even with a line out the door and hour wait on food! Not one person was standing there doing nothing- the common goal orientation of the staff was amazing! 100% will be back for the pizza and the customer service!
Great beer! Good food. Fun atmosphere.
Holy cow. I just had the Za'atar! First of all, I'm a big fan of the spice. Second of all, I got the cauliflower/GF crust and oh man was I impressed. I finally have a local place where I can eat pizza again. Thanks guys. Totally great.
Fantastic!
What a spot
Great pizza, beer, and service, what else can you ask for?

Delicious and creative pizzas and good beer!
Was super excited to try this place and have a pizza. Honestly, there is nothing decent local to Amherst so we traveled to Lexington. Unfortunately, all the flavors were there but the crust on the center of the pizza did not hold up. Nothing against this establishment but the oven technique is off. Once again, the flavors were there. Just don’t care to eat soggy pizza. Wiling to try again once this gets worked out.
The food is otherworldy.
We enjoyed our beer and pizza! Even though the pizza was a bit undercooked it was still delicious. They give you scissors to cut your own pizza which is a bit odd/ gimmicky.
We stopped in for drinks and lunch while visiting friends in Lexington, and I had to leave a review! The gluten-free cauliflower dough pizza was fantastic, and hands down the best gluten-free crust I’ve ever had. So many GF crusts can be disappointing, but this one was amazing.
We also tried the labneh, which came with gluten-free cauliflower dough flatbread and fresh veggies—absolutely delicious. The staff was super welcoming, and the brewery had such a great vibe. Hope we get the chance to visit again soon!
