Sour thawed salmon & tuna sashimi with slimy texture, drastically undersized signature rolls and hibachi steak servings. Rancid greasy gyoza & soft shell crab with bland tasteless filling, moldy wilted cucumber as side garnish. Dark hair and plastic fragments repeatedly found in udon and sushi orders.Mold-covered grimy sushi prep zone, delivery gets absolute priority, staff ignore grievances and refuse full remakes or refunds. I will never dine in or order delivery here again.

Fr everyone in Martinsville needs to cross Yamato Japanese off your takeout list for good, this sushi joint peddles rotten raw fish and cheats everyone on portion sizes. Every slice of tuna nigiri’s slimy sour from endless freeze-thaw cycles, the rainbow roll skips most premium fish just to load cheap stale rice. Crispy soft shell crab drowns in ancient oxidized fry grease that ruins every single bite. I watched sushi chefs grab crumpled cash bare-handed then slice raw fish over counters piled with moldy avocado scraps. Any food complaint only gets brushed off with worthless tiny credit; delivery always cuts every dine line without a single exception.
Love this place
This place is horrible. The food was awful, and I wish I had looked at their past health inspection reports before coming here.
I ordered the steak and shrimp. The steak was extremely dry and tough—I could barely swallow it. The shrimp tasted old, like it had been sitting for days. To make matters worse, the customer service was just as bad as the food.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend eating here. There are much better places to spend your money.
This place seems to be well run. You have the option of entertainment with a personal cook or regular table service. I chose to have table service. I ordered a crispy crab tempura appetizer which was presented very nicely on arugula with delicate sauce. Then I ordered a simple chicken and shrimp hibachi dish with vegetables and either a fried rice ball or lo mein noodles. I opted for the noodles. This also came with a simple salad with either ranch or ginger dressing. I chose the ginger and was not disappointed. The table seating was a bit cramped but tolerable but this is not a large place to begin with. This was a pleasant experience and a place that will get me back.

HORRIBLE customer service! When asked to get a replacement of a meal, I received attitude and disrespect. The manager even proceeded to say “I wouldn’t go to a restaurant to try something new.” And claimed that I was just sampling the food. I personally like to try new things when I go out to restaurants so for that to be said was very distasteful. I even suggested getting something else instead of even getting half off that item and she told me there was nothing that could be done.
As seen in the picture there were only two sushi rolls from each plate missing, therefore this whole situation did not make any sense. DISCLAIMER YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK IF YOU “sample” THE FOOD.

Avoid this restaurant. The waitress wrote our order wrong; we were trying to split a chicken & steak. We were charged for two entire orders instead of one. We also ordered a kids junior chicken to go and were charged instead for an adult chicken portion. The waitress then deflected and tried to say the price difference was due to taxes, then refused to acknowledge her own mistake.
The restaurant would not assist further because they’d cooked the portions; they incredulously asked us if we’d mentioned this to the chef, as if we are to already know what the raw portion sizes are for a multi-party table.
Avoid this japanese steakhouse.

Food was amazing.. but the two hostest were too busy talking and gossipping to bother to take our orders. They are literally being paid to hang out and talk

Our cook had a great personality which led to a great performance,.. he had us laughing more than once!! My veggies could have been a little more cooked and tender. But it was good. My sushi was amazing and fresh!!

We love the food normally. But, this time they cut the lobster tails and scallops were in half. That's one half lobster per person. The filet mignon was cut up before it was brought out and it was tough. So, I'm not sure it was filet mignon. Not anywhere as good as usual.

Kids love seeing the chef cook in front of them, food was excellently prepared. We will recommend and we will also be back. Pricing was fair, restaurant could use some updates.
