Hot water not working in our room - multiple phone calls to maintenance and concierge but it was not repaired.
Come for the Mold, Stay for the Raw Chicken – A Magical Disaster at Massanutten Resort. A money-grabbing, poorly run, sleazy operation wrapped in a moldy, duct-taped bow.
🌄 Massanutten Overnight Stay: Here's What to Know 🛶🦌🎉 I recently had the chance to spend a night at Massanutten Resort, and let me just say — if you think you’ve seen it all before, think again. Whether you're staying for business, fun, or something in between, this place is like a little mountain town of its own. You could easily spend a week here and still not hit everything. ✨ Arrival & Check-In We checked in around 1PM on a Thursday. It was smooth, quick, and the staff was friendly. One thing to note: there are two exits out of the parking lot, and the resort actually continues up the mountain across the road, which wasn’t super clear up front. A little more signage or direction at check-in would’ve been helpful — but once you're on your way, the signage kicks in and makes exploring easier. This place is huge — full-on neighborhoods, rental communities, and at least 12 different kinds of fun, from go-karts to golf to hiking trails with stunning overlooks that are totally worth wandering off the path for. 🏡 The Condo We stayed in the Woodstone area. Condo was updated, clean, and surprisingly spacious. The full kitchen had everything we needed, and the jacuzzi tub in the main area was a great bonus (pro tip: bring bath salts or bubbles if you’re a soak person). One small suggestion: a display basket in the kitchen area for fruit or snacks would be a handy touch. We made it work, but it stood out. 🚬 Smoker-Friendly Balcony (Yes, Really) Here’s something you don’t see often: the balcony allows smoking. One of us is a smoker, so it was nice to see a resort acknowledge it with clear rules instead of pretending people don’t do it. It was appreciated. An ashtray would be helpful, but hey — props for even allowing it at all. 🧖♀️ Rec Center = Hidden Gem The indoor/outdoor pools were clean and inviting, and the eucalyptus steam room hit the reset button for all of us. Sauna, loungers, pool tables, arcade, and a very decent gym — just don’t forget closed-toed shoes and proper attire if you want to use the equipment. (Let’s just say we learned the hard way.) 🍽️ Campfire Grill = Worth the Trip Alone Dinner was hands-down one of the best parts of the stay. The crispy catfish with roasted corn remoulade was perfection, and the Campfire Burger didn’t miss. Even the “kid food” was solid. This place isn’t just convenient — it’s genuinely good. Would honestly come back for the food alone. 🎢 Coming Soon: A Rollercoaster. Yes, Really. They’re currently building a rollercoaster into the side of the mountain that’ll cross over the road — coming 2026. It’s giving real alpine adventure energy. Can’t wait to see that finished. 💦 Other Highlights Didn’t get to explore the indoor waterpark this time (it’s open to the public, just outside the resort and not part of the resort itself!), but it’s nice to know it’s nearby. Definitely something to keep in mind for longer stays or families. 🛠️ A Small Glitch, Handled Well We had an issue with our lock after check-in — had to go back to the desk and wait for maintenance, but staff was helpful and quick to respond. What was more concerning: the next morning, we noticed the door was slightly open. Luckily, I had made a mental note when reading the check-in instructions — they specifically mentioned using the chain lock before bed, and I’m so glad I latched it. Our room was very separated, so honestly, we wouldn’t have heard a thing if someone had come in. Definitely unsettling, but staff reassured me they could check key swipes and entry logs — and said they would. That kind of transparency makes a big difference. ✨ Final Take If you’re looking for a place that mixes fresh mountain air with a ton of activities, relaxing spaces, and solid service — Massanutten’s worth checking out. Whether it’s a full-on vacation, a quick overnight, or something in between, this resort has the space and variety to fit just about any kind of stay.
Was so excited about this mini get away and was having a great time. I take a nap and wake up to fine 3 roaches within 5 minutes. So disgusted all I wanna do is leave now. I have Photos and video😤🪳🪳🪳
We reserved a condo with a kitchen. After a lengthy check in process. We proceeded to the unit. We unpacked the vehicle. After getting settled we realized the kitchen only had a microwave and refrigerator. They don’t allow you to check in before 5pm. I went back to main office and showed my reservation and my room was changed to what we paid for initially. We packed up again and moved to the unit with a stove. Now it’s 615 we have 45 mins to enjoy the pool which closed at 7pm. We come back and start to cook dinner. Our neighbors are having a full blown party. Loud music, marijuana, loud talking. Around 10pm we received a call that we had a noise complaint. We were confused because we only had the tv on. They sent this officer out who didn’t identify himself. He immediately begin to scold us about the noise level. When I tried to explain the condo next is the unit making the noise. He screamed at me I’m not going to argue you with you. This is your first strike and your 3rd one you’re out. He seemed to be a racist. I can’t think of any reason he had to walk up to us and treat us like trash. Other then the color of our skin. There are multiple complaints on the BBB website with the same complaint about security. I have reported it to several people at the resort. I will not spend another dime there.
Worst stay ever!!! Dirty linen in the hallway at the entrance of the condo. Toilet didn’t flush. Tv didn’t work. No maintenance or housekeeping til the next day !!!! Poor and bad business if u ask me …
I 'won' a 3 day 2 night stay, with knowing we had to do the time share gig. We got there after 7PM Friday & check in area was very busy. Got to our place at Eagle Pass(Eagle something, it was late). Roads are very dark at night, no lights. Slept great the first night but the second night we kept hearing a weird noise, sounds. I was surprised when my husband told me that check out was 10AM Sunday. Things in the room needed updated, but over all nice. We drove around until noon for the 'pressure cooker'. After 2 hours of the sales pitch, we said no. My husband went outside after the guy turned from being our buddy to not wanting to shake my husband's hand. After I went over to the help desk, we met with another guy. He was less pushy, and we soon were on our way. I am proud of my husband for being as calm as he was after the sales guy got pushy & rude. I got my $129 deposit back, $150 on a visa card, & 2 nights free. We only had time to swim indoors & spend some time in the outdoor hot tub. The indoor one was full of kids. Not something 2 adults in their 50's find relaxing. But seemed family friendly. It was worth our time, but we won't be back. Once & done for us. If you have the extra money, do it. If you don't, they shouldn't try & make you feel like a jerk for not saying, "Yes!", right away on a lifetime commitment.
Make sure you check your veggies on your burger that they're not wilted. The rockfish tacos were great, and so are the trash can nachos.
Great place to learn how to ski or snowboard!
Took a moment at base to eat lunch and catch my breath with the wife before we headed up the scenic chairlift. Great staff and menu. Wanted to stay and catch the JMU game but ran out of time and had other activities to do.

Wonderful experience whew so worth it get out and enjoy life
Very disappointed. Not a 4 star resort. Very poor services starting from check in to premium condos to check out. Would not recommend.
During the summer, they have lots of different entertainment shows that are great for kids (and adults too). Also went for the July 4th jam fest, which was pretty cool. Long lines for vendors and food trucks then ended with a fireworks show on top of the mountain.
Good Site
We came here for the first time in February. Overall it was a good experience. They are lacking in some facilities you find at larger resorts, like locker rooms. The lodge is pretty small. Some of the doors to the lodge are locked, which is frustrating after walking up a lot of steps in ski boots. The biggest issue is that there are only three easy runs, and they are all at the top of the lower lifts. If you are a beginner and go to the top of the mountain, you are completely hosed. There is a sign that says "No easy way down", which is accurate. You just need to go down the same three slopes over and over again. They don't use traditional ski passes, so if you come on a warmer day make sure you are wearing something with pockets. Try to do rentals at the Powder Shack (off mountain) to pay $25 instead of $85.
