My first time trying Afghan food and it did not disappoint. My favorite item of the night were the pumpkin dumplings. We had lamb with cilantro and lamb with okra. Everything on the menu you could tell was made fresh and will great ingredients. The lamb was tender and flavorful. We also finished dinner with cardamom ice cream which was absolutely delicious. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The inside of the restaurant was beautiful, definitely on the nicer side as far as dress goes. We have dined here a few times. This review is for our lunch there this week.We went for a business lunch. The Manager/server, Kyle, was the best part of the meal. So professional, knowledgeable and accommodating. Our 3 meals were at varying levels for us. Our guest said the eggplant was one of the best she has ever had. The lentil soup was just so-so. And the salmon while a small portion was very tender. While the dumpling descriptions sound delicious, we found them too crispy - and too much dough. We were unable to detect a flavor of the stuffing in the dumplings!The baklava was better than it used to be there, but the phyllo dough was still a little too crispy/hard.Parking is free in the garage. Chairs are comfortable. The atmosphere feels a bit dark/outdated to us - but might be fine for others.

You’ll know you’re genuinely welcomed and will be well cared for.We were impressed with the attention to detail as both Eman and Z took great care of all at our table.The food was super! Your dining experience begins with a.selection of four tasty chutneys served with fresh warm bread. For an appetizer I would highly recommend the assorted dumplings which are delicious.Lamb is their go to and don’t hesitate to order any of the specials as we did and everything was scrumptious.I enjoyed the vegetarian flight and vegans can find their happy place here as well.I would like to give a special shout out to Sophia whose kind and gracious spirit is also evident in each of her family members! Thank you for a wonderful afternoon yesterday where we lingered over the dishes and conversation never feeling rushed and always well cared for.Vegetarian options: Also vegan options!

If I could give this place a 4.5 I would but I can’t so I’m giving this place a 5. The complete taste came out to $140 something with tip. Can feed 3 comfortably.5 stars for 5 reasons1. Overall, the food was really good. A lot of the food was kinda sweet like the lamb shank and some of their meat dishes. The shank is so good and meat is really soft/tender! Falls off the bone. Lamb chops are delicious!Mantu is one of my favorite dish. Eggplant dish is good and spinach is good as well. The rice is always really good and perfect.2. The price for the complete taste is awesome!3. So much food for what you pay4. Good customer service5. Awesome decor and great atmosphere.

Best restaurant in the Metro area. But when they don't have blue cheese for the Bistro Salad, they simply bring it to you and don't tell you they ran out of blue cheese. You find out as you are eating it. And on 3 separate they overcharged on the bill. And without looking at it when I point it out to them they immediately apologize and say ok we'll fix it. As if they knew what I was going to point out.

Our visit to Aracosia was very enjoyable on many levels. The waitress explained the best choices for what we may like and we loved all of her recommendations. We loved the dumpling sampler. Our favorite was the pumpkin.

I went here with my gf and my family for dinner for the first time and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their dish! Unlike on their physical menu, their online menu shows which meals are gluten free and vegan and there are soooo many options for anyone who is gf and/or VG as well as meat eaters. The decor and music are beautiful and create a nice atmosphere for dinner with family or friends or a date night. Our waiter was very attentive, polite, and friendly. Highly recommend this place and can't wait to try their sister restaurant in DC.
