Chiang Mai Thai Cookhouse Reviews
Food is phenomenal! The northern style Thai food is authentic.
Wow, flavors popped!! Very small place but wonderful food!
We learned about Chiang Mai from strangers we were chatting with at another (non Thai) restaurant in Bethesda and they raved about it. So of course we had to try!
We went on a Monday evening and there was no wait and the staff greeting was lovely. I was pretty indecisive about sitting outside or inside and the staff were so accommodating and patient!

Chiang Mai Thai Cookhouse is a popular spot known for its outdoor seating and clean environment. The decor has a traditional, old-school feel, adding charm to the place. The food is generally good, with dishes like spring rolls that are crispy and tasty, and the chicken pad see-ew that is enjoyable despite some chicken being cold. The restaurant offers a variety of flavorful options, including the papaya salad, spicy ground chicken, and saucy chicken dishes, all presented well. Customers often praise the cocktails, friendly and attentive service, and the outdoor garden seating, which provides a nice atmosphere. The Thai ice coffee with cold foam is highly recommended. Some dishes like tofu pad thai and Beef ka pow are well-liked, though the rice can be slightly overcooked. Fried calamari rings are a good sharable snack, fried perfectly and paired nicely with Thai chili sauce. The jumbo crab meat fried rice was less satisfying, being bland and dry. The decor is interesting, though noise levels can be high, especially when staff and customers gather to talk. Overall, it is considered one of the best Thai restaurants in the area, offering delicious food and friendly service.
