We ate here twice, the first by chance and the second time because it was our favourite meal of the holiday. Food outstanding. Prices very reasonable. Amazingly not a table empty at a time when most restaurants struggling. Complimentary garlic bread was delicious, as was the brownie and ice cream at the end of the meal. I generally choose vegetarian dishes, but the stifado was so tasty and tender. We loved Gerani.

Great restaurant in the heart of Gerani. Traditional Greek food, cooked to perfection with excellent service. I have Tsipoura here as it is always excellent, my husband has the pork chop which is fabulous too. Great draught beer - Charma.

I've visited many times, winter and summer, and simply love this tavern and all the traditional plates they serve. The food, the local wine and the straff/owners are hidden gems. Forget anything touristic, eat like a Greek with Greeks!

Update -- there is now a sign on the door indicating that, due to remodeling and hiring a new chef, the restaurant will be closed until the end of January. Can we please have back Evo Bistro????

We had a very good dinner tonight at Archontiko Esriatorio. This was our first visit. We found the food to be excellent--lamb shanks, fisherman's stew, and salmon. Service was friendly and attentive. It was a very slow night (only four or five tables occupied), but the restaurant was well-staffed and both the kitchen and service were just the right pace for a nice Sunday evening dinner. We were treated as welcomed guests. As more people discover it, the restaurant deserves to become a significant addition to McLean's rather limited good-to-fine dining options. We will return often.

Superb Greek food and service. Our company had a Christmas party at this restaurant last night and I returned today to have lunch. Both meals were outstanding. I understand the restaurant recently opened and is new in the neighborhood. I look forward to frequenting this establishment.

I read about this in a neighborhood listserve and they raved about it. They had only recently opened for lunch and we were the only people in there. We ordered an appetizer (eggplant) and he brought fried zucchini, which turned out to be amazing. Impossibly thin zucchini fried like tempura with tzadziki sauce. As an apology, he also brought what we'd ordered free of charge. And then we waited, and waited. He finally brought our food and said the oven had not been turned on. (why couldn't he have told us that?) After the meal, he did ask how they'd done and we told him but appreciated that he'd asked. I went back a few weeks later and ordered the same wonderful zucchini. We were handed the dinner menu at 1:50pm. Really? When asked, he did offer us the lunch menu instead. We both ordered the pork gyro, but he came back and said he had only only portion left, and offered chicken instead. I should have taken the chicken. The pork was clearly the bottom of the barrel, chewy and overcooked. However, it came with potatoes and salad so I had plenty to eat. Overall, I would return. However, the friend I first went with had also returned and had the same problems with slow service. I hope they get it together soon, because I think it has great potential.

Exceptionally authentic Greek! Not to be missed... Skordalia, Branzino, Calamari, Keftedes and the list goes on and on! Remarkable !!

Service was great, very friendly staff. Food was mediocre at best and pricing relatively high for the food quality. Restaurant was empty for dinner at 8:45pm on a Saturday night... very clear that there hasn't been much money spent on marketing. Has potential to be a good neighborhood dinner spot, but needs some work!

Don't expect this place will last long. No marketing, not even showing up on Trip Advisor as in existence. Sunday lunch with only two other tables occupied. Server was very nice, nice Greek wines by the glass. Ordered mezze which should take a few minutes to prepare, especially given empty restaurant. We were ready to leave when the third dish of sauteed shrimp came out. The grilled calamari were excellent.

Went last night for drinks with friends. Food was delicious and service excellent. Decor needs some help but I will definitely go back.

This restaurant is still getting up to speed. The food is pretty good. The kitchen is a little slow to move the food out to the customers. In spite of that, it is good food, and not like the usual Greek you find at some more Greek/Italian/American restaurants. Portions were generous but not over the top. The staff were attentive. The grilled octopus appetizer was not very grilled. It was tender but needed a bit of seasoning. The hummus it was served over was very good, not as garlicky as some, and there was also some sort of finely diced onion mix that was very good. Entree salads looked large and tasty. Lamb was nice, but lacked a roasted taste around the outside, though it was nicely seasoned. The Greek potatoes were slightly lemony, something I like. There are several Greek wines to enjoy along with a full bar. Hopefully the problems will be worked out, as this could be a pretty good place for authentic Greek food.

I had lunch one evening with my friends, choosing the tavern without knowing anything about it. It was a very pleasant surprise, because all the food was very good and the staff very friendly. A quiet place even if it is located near the street. Very clean as well. I strongly recommend!

We arrived on the island with the last ferry so we checked in close to midnight. The host was kind enough to take us to this taverna knowing that all the others were closed. The waiter recommended us a menu for two which was definitely for at least three. A big plate with a huge Cretan pork steak, lamb, chicken breast, sausages, home made burger and vegetables on grill along with tzatziki, Greek salad, and wine. From the house dessert and raki came with the bill, of course. But, beside the delicious food, the atmosphere was also very friendly and relaxing. The waiter did a great job and he did it naturally, without any stress. We went back with some friends who were also pleasantly surprised.
