We’ve lived in Mechanicsville for a few years now, so I’m honestly surprised it took us this long to discover Williams Bakery! This is a small, family-run bakery with a long history in the Richmond area, dating back to 1911. They’re known for making their baked goods from scratch using recipes that have been passed down through the Williams family, which is something I always love supporting in a local business.

Pie is solid, but $30 for a 8 inch Apple pie is INSANE. Really want to support small businesses but I won’t be back because $30 for a 8 inch pie is just too much. It’s mechanicsville, not NYC or SF.

Hope they adjust pricing, if they do I will be back, but otherwise won’t.

My husband and I bought a chocolate Boston creme donut, a pretzel donut and 2 Halloween cupcakes. They were the lightest, moist and delicious bakery items I have ever had...anywhere! Just wish I lived closer. Will definitely come back. I only wish they made gluten free version cupcakes so my grown daughter could eat there.
