My wife and I visit Middleburg, VA once a year for rest and relaxation. We have been coming to the Salamander restaurant every year also. We look forward to the excellent quality food and home type atmosphere. This past May, we were there for lunch and the manager Jack came over to check on us. He was so friendly and we had a great conversation. We bragged to Jack on the great thing the Salamander has going and how much we appreciate the great and kind staff. Keep up the tradition. We always enjoy and look forward to the next time.Blessings,Joe & Donna BaileySt. Petersburg, FL

Great local spot in downtown Middleburg with sandwiches, drinks, coffee and fresh pastries. We enjoyed the BLT wrap and the Crab Cake sandwich, all was delicious. Also would recommend their Korean sliders, not too spicy but the sauce is smokey and has some heat. The restaurant is very beautifully decorated to look like a cafe in Europe. Our only issue was the line to order the food eas pretty long and took a while to get the food. The line and cashier to checkout is also in the middle of the inside dining room so we had to make sure we weren't in the way of other customers. Otherwise we had a great experience and the food made it worth it.

I would give zero stars if I could. Website says breakfast all day but when we drove 1 hr to try, was told at 11:45 they only had lunch.

Maybe a bit fancy for three little boys, but they were well behaved, and agreed the Mac and Cheese was the best. Good for discerning adults, too.

The interior has a very unique design, with market-like stalls displaying various products around the walls which are painted like the sky. The short rib sliders were pretty good, and the boursin cheese that came with it was an excellent pairing. I wasn’t as much a fan of the potato salad though. The potatoes felt undercooked, and the whole mix was a bit plain.

I went to salamander after riding my horse and asked about the Reuben special. I asked if the corn beef, is it tender, I asked. Oh yes they said. I ordered it. I was waiting. And the cook said to me do you want to browse while you’re waiting? I said no thank you, I’ve been coming to the store since it opened. I know everything in here. Then another worker came up and asked me not to stand in front of the cooking area. I wondered why not. Instead I said how about you bring it to me in my car. They did. The corn beef was almost 2 inches thick. One slab. I could not take a bite of it. What has happened to this place. Very frustrating.

Nice staff. Overpriced trash for food and machine coffee. Looks fancy.Skip this place and go hit up Middleburg Common Grounds 100 feet away for a significantly better experience with locally sourced ingredients and waaay better coffee.

Have been wanting to try Market Salamander for a while and finally stopped in for lunch with the family. No table service, you have to order from the front register. However the staff are very pleasant and responsive. The food is what you'd expect from an upscale market, excellent. Had the Jr Club, mac-n-cheese, and the quinoa crab salad. All were fabulous and worth coming back for. If you are visiting Middleburg VA, I highly recommend grabbing a bite or drink here.
