Surly service, long wait and disappointing food. The Tuscan tuna sandwhich on "whole grain" had no visible tuna and they substituted the whole grain with brioche without asking. When he asked if that was okay and I said not really, he just glared and did nothing to rectify the situation (different bread, free dessert or drink?). We ate the food because we waited 25 minutes for the sandwiches and were hungry. We are not going back.
Slow, but good food. Egg sandwiches are tasty and the bagels are soft and delicious. The scones were a bit overly dry but still good
Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly as long as the kids are quiet
Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible, they have a ramp.

All lovely, except the turkey and bacon had ONE slice of paper-thin turkey, and HALF A RASHER of bacon, which I found almost by accident after shifting to one side the Dijon. The other sandwich has so little tuna that even a tiny cat wouldn’t be happy. ?
I tipped 15% BEFORE the sandwiches were made - so I guess that wasn’t enough ?

I like the place and it has potential based upon my observations. hence the 3 stars . I have tried this place 3 times now and my drink always came out fast without issue. So great job there! Pet peeve is that the tip is built into the POS app even for take out. There is no table service here so order and pick your stuff up. I am an over tipper but do not appreciate it being forced upon me having worked in restaurants and pubs many years ago. Food and food service is the major problem here. I ordered a breakfast wrap and received a wrap with spinach leaves. The prep cook was completely overwhelmed and had a very tight 24-36” work area. When you charge $$$ for an egg wrap make sure it is good. I observed quite a few upset customers during my 40 minute wait and many got something “close “ to what they ordered . Lesson learned is if they are super busy go elsewhere or just get a drink. Again I think this place is a gold mine just cannot handle “busy” times well. I’ll try again in the fall and update my review accordingly.

Coffee was pretty decent, breakfast sandwiches were amazing, and liked the outside seating. Sadly the lemonades were a little weak though.

Stopped for coffee when riding through the area. My coffee and the bacon I ordered were very good. Very reasonably priced. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Great place to relax and talk over coffee.

Delicious sandwiches!! We stumbled upon this place when staying at the salamander and it was a great find! I had the customizable breakfast sandwich - so good! The ciabatta was perfectly baked and with a lot of variety for toppings. My husband also raved about the sourdough bread. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this shop if you’re in the area.

Unfortunately, our visit to Middleburg Common Grounds was a disappointment. We ordered a breakfast sandwich, a coffee, and a cappuccino for ~$21. The breakfast sandwich was on soggy toast, that appeared to be wonder bread, with undercooked bacon and overcooked eggs. While both the coffee and cappuccino tasted burnt and so unenjoyable that we decided to dispose of it after a few sips. Sadly, we won’t be returning.
