We stopped in here to get a sandwich and what a place. The service was quick and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this place as not only is the food good but the prices are fair and the people who work there are friendly and professional.

The baked goods at this place are definitely worth it! Everything from pasteries to donuts to bread loaves are great for a quick stop on your way through or to use in your daily recipes at home.

This restaurant was the highlight of our excursion to the town of Middleburg. The original shop is an a house that's over 100 years old and it has character. If the lines long it'll move relatively fast, the interior is very small. There is a bunch of seating outside as well as in a small extra building out back for the colder days. What I got:Spicy hen on sourdough - 5* this was fantastic! The spicy chicken had great flavor and the sourdough bread was surprisingly soft.Okie dokie - 4* a very yummy cookie.

This place is a staple in this community! I have been coming here since I was a child and I truly can't picture my life without them in it! Wishing them nothing but continued success and they will NEVER go out of business as long as I'm around! :)

We couldn't find it. We drove around, is it inside Safeway? We were hoping to find it

The ice cream is so good. We had peach and vanilla, and the portion is big! The service is nice.

The Upper Crust is small, but the pies are mighty! Absolutely delicious!

My daughter provided me with Cow Puddle Cookies. I have been in love with them since I first tasted them. I just visited and my daughter Karen sent me home with a dozen of them. They are gone but I was able to order a couple dozen today. Cannot wait for them to get here. I have eaten other cookies and all I have tasted were excellent. If you have not tried these you are missing out on a real treat.

which appeared to be pies, when we ordered pastries. just another crowded dc place it seemed. oh well
Cow piles cookies are addictive, tastes simple but oh so good. Sandwiches were fine. Service tad slow, probably under staff. Nice outdoor dining area in back. Stopped by for quick lunch after strawberry picking. Middlebury such a quaint town.

Don't you dare go here. Don't you even think about it. I want it all for me!! Meeeeee ... I want to eat All.The.Things! Don't you dare get them. They're mine! Just kidding, as I do not have a giant belly. We've been here a few times over the past month or so (not counting several times years ago, when we were also very well fed). There does not seem to be a single thing on the menu that is not absopositively delicious. We really like these folks. The prices are reasonable, even if this weren't Middleburg. The staff are super-nice, and they really care about making our sandwiches just the way we ordered. (For example, if we wanted mayonnaise instead of Dijon mustard, or if we wanted the bread toasted, "but lightly"--and it always is. Or "plenty of onions," or no onions ... whatever.) It's been a few years, but I once again have occasion to be in Middleburg regularly, and it's a pleasure to plan our visits around lunches at the Upper Crust. We loved this place years ago, and we love it even more now. Pro tip: Day-old baked goodies (still really delicious) are set out on a table that's behind you as you wait in line. I love the chicken Cobb sandwich--it's great. Also the chili. But every family member who's eaten here has loved everything else he ordered, too. Yay for a great place that persists despite these past several years' "Middleburg-ing" of Middleburg. This place is real, and good. It's what Middleburg used to be like. And still is. You just have to know where to look.

I really like this tiny, quaint bakery! my boss loves their cow puddles, so typically we end up getting a ton of them at a time.located across the street from the Safeway, this little bakery now takes credit cards via Square & cash. super convenient for me now as I don't have to take cash with me anymore. I took a ton of photos, but I didn't realize until afterwards, they have a sign that said no cell phones :x sorry!their baked goods are always good. cow puddles are these chewy, addicting cookies made with some decadent brown butter. I also bought a honey bun for myself and a sugar cookie for my daughter. she really enjoyed it as it was a cute little purple horse! the chocolate croissants were so good. I wouldn't compare them to an actual French one, but good for what you're getting. I honestly had to stop looking as I wanted to buy everything myself (pregnancy cravings).great little stop for anyone in the area!
