Great food! Looks initially like small portions (I think I was just super hungry), but actually pretty good portion size. I had the curry chicken with the rice & spinach, added roti and a sorrel. Filled me right up and it hit the spot. Will definitely come back whenever I'm nearby again.

My husband is Trinidadian so I am an honorary Trini? We have been hoping for a Trini restaurant and we found Triniroti. The food is very good my faves are the Chicken Roti and Doubles. I am glad they are here and I wish this business much success. We are New Yorkers so we appreciate the multiple cultures. I hope that the people of Virginia will do the same. The owner is very nice and should be treated the same.
As someone who grew up in a West Indian house, I can tell you that the food they make at Trini Roti is a labor of love from start to finish. I've had their doubles and their saltfish and bake, and it's like tasting my childhood all over again. Although I've only been twice, every time, I feel like I leave with a smile on my face. I'm glad it's close to home, and I'm definitely going back again soon. Next time I'll have to try one of their varieties of curry and roti! But if you've never had this sort of food before, the doubles are the way to go. They're sure to get you hooked!

My husband and I were saying that we wish there was a Trini restaurant In Virginia as we found one in South Carolina (my mom lives there) which was good but short lived. My husband who is Trini literally came home excited stating there was a a Trinidadian restaurant down Hull Street... ask and you will receive! The food is on point authentic Trinidadian food and yes it's good. I have had the Doubles and Roti with curry chicken our daughter enjoyed curry goat and peas and rice. You will be greeted by a very nice lady who is very personable wearing many hats. I pray that this business continues to be successful and thrives so we can continue to enjoy delicious Trinidadian food.

This place is magnificent!! I discovered it last week and I’ve been back twice more already! The doubles are amazing! I tried the bake-and-shark today and my taste buds exploded! I let my young daughter taste it and she ate just about half! I’ll be going back next week for the stewed fish! Kathy is so warm, kind and patient in answering questions. I’m so pleased with every experience I’ve had so far.Parking: Endless space to park.Kid-friendliness: Kathy interacted with her which made her comfortable. She really liked the music that was playing.

Overall, I'm glad me and my boyfriend visited Trinny Roddy for the first time . We had a pleasant visit and the owner is very helpful and sweet. I would like to just warn everyone due to Staffing there is one lady working. Overall we got our food rather quickly . I got the curry shrimp and it was really good the shrimp was tender and the flavor was incredible. My boyfriend got the goat Curry . He did state that the goat Curry was a little tough but other than that he was pleased with his meal. We saw so many reviews regarding the doubles and I am so glad we got them. They are so good and very filling. The rice and peas was lacking in flavor in my opinion but the overall protein of the dish was pretty good. The menu Isn't exstenive so what you see in all the pictures may not be available that day, so if you truly have your mind set on something might be a good idea to call and ask ahead of time . Overall this place is really good very filling and I definitely plan on going back there again.

I heard about Trini Roti on Yelp & IG and finally stopped by for lunch Saturday. Although we didn't dine the restaurant was cozy, clean, and inviting. in we were able to talk with Kathleen for a good while. This was my first time having Trinidadian cuisine and she answered all my questions and described her menu & meals to us. There was also a gentleman who was dining in who shared one of his doubles with us as Kathleen had sold out for the day. It was so unexpected but such a nice gesture and it really gave family atmosphere. I did have my mind set on a couple of items that were sold out so I would recommend going when she opens and calling ahead to see what's on the menu for the day as it changes. Kathleen told us that she comes to cook and prep before opening and once things sell out she's out for the day. The double was so delicious I thought it was meat inside. But it's actually made with chickpeas and Kathleen thought we'd be worried about the spice but I love spicy food and would absolutely get those again. My boyfriend and his sister had the curry chicken and roti and it was good and I'd recommend to anyone as it wasn't spicy. I had the stew fish & roti and it was so good. There were carrots & celery in my mixture so it made it super hearty and the fish was cooked perfectly as it wasn't dry. I loved eating it with the roti and I still had some left. Before we left she let us try some of the shark and I was regretting not ordering some of that as well. It was fried and it kind of reminded me of a salmon patty/croquette. I'm coming for those and the meat pies next visit. Lastly, I wanted to try one of the drinks and asked Kathleen her favorite and she recommended the Sorrel. I got it with ice and loved it!! It reminded me of a cranberry juice with spice (not spicy hot but like there was cinnamon or all spice in it) ... so good! Please go check them out as you surely won't be disappointed!!!

Yummy is all I can say. It was my first time visiting her restaurant. I had a Curry Goat Roti yesterday and it reminded me of being back home in Carriacou. It was so amazing. I will be going back today for another. She was also so friendly and professional. The atmosphere in the restaurant was amazing. Definitely my new spot. It’s 30 minutes from me, BUT ITS WORTH THE DRIVE. ??❤️??
