“My family and I visited NAPA Kitchen & Wine in Midlothian the night before Thanksgiving, and it ended up being one of the warmest, most memorable dining experiences we’ve ever had. We had called a bit last-minute because our plans that evening were uncertain, and despite it being a busy night, the staff treated us with an incredible level of kindness and understanding. They didn’t just “fit us in” — they made us feel genuinely welcome.

When we arrived earlier than expected, they already had a table prepared, greeting us with the kind of hospitality that feels rare these days. Every interaction felt sincere, and the service was thoughtful in a way that really touched us.

The food was truly fantastic. I ordered the steak, which was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. My wife ordered the gnocchi, and when the kitchen realized the initial preparation wasn’t fully vegetarian, they immediately corrected it with zero hesitation. They handled it swiftly and graciously, and she ended up with a dish that she absolutely loved. Even our daughter’s kids’ cheese pizza was over-the-top delicious — easily the most boujee kids’ pizza she’s ever had.

What stood out the most, though, was the heart behind the service. The team at NAPA Kitchen & Wine didn’t just give us a great meal; they gave us a night that felt cared for, appreciated, and genuinely special. It meant more to us than they probably realize.

We’ll be back again and again. Highly, wholeheartedly recommended.“

“We had dinner at Chef's Kitchen tonight, Feb. 21st. Our waiter Ben was amazing, as was the food. We started with the Burrata and Dumplings, both of which were mouth watering and glorious. My greatest fear is that those dumplings will haunt my dreams forever. I could probably eat them daily. I am telling you it was a religious experience. If not a religious experience then possibly a spiritual experience. I believe if Anthony Bourdain ate here he would have something pithy and wonderful to say. Something cultured and refined. For an entree we both had the braised duck gnocchi which was pillowy, creamy, and delicious. We paired the meal with a Cab Franc from barboursville which was decently priced and absolutely sublime. Give this place an opportunity. Eat here. My wife and I both agree that it is the best meal we have shared together in many years. Oh and ask for Ben and tip him well. He's the man.“

“Bartizan Events Venue was the perfect choice for my mother's 80th birthday party this weekend. The entire experience was outstanding, thanks to the venue's wonderful staff. From our very first meeting, they were professional, accommodating, and made the planning process a joy.

On the day of the event (August 9, 2025), the staff was incredibly attentive, and they went above and beyond to make the day magical for my mother. Guests were blown away by the food, and I've received countless compliments. One cousin even asked me if I thought she could get the recipe for the chicken!

The venue is conveniently located in Glen Allen with easy access to street parking and free public garages. I'm honestly a little sad the party is over because I loved working with Rachel and the team so much. I'm already looking for another excuse to host an event there. Bartizan is a definite five-star, full-service venue that I would recommend for any special occasion.“

“My husband, family, and I dined here on Saturday evening after traveling from the DC/Maryland area, and I must say—everything was perfect. From the warm welcome at the front desk to our amazing server, EJ, the experience was top-tier. EJ was friendly, personable, and very knowledgeable with great food recommendations. The manager was also extremely hands-on and attentive. And let me add—the bathroom was clean (a big pet peeve of mine), so that was a definite plus!

Our food was delicious from start to finish—starters, entrées, and drinks.

Starters:
• Fried okra – delicious
• Greens and chicken egg rolls – delicious

Husband:
• Turkey wings with gravy & onions, mac and cheese, fries, and cabbage – excellent
• He wasn’t a fan of the cabbage, but it was quickly swapped for sweet potatoes, which were also excellent

Me:
• Fried fish (3), rice with gravy, and greens – excellent
• I wasn’t a fan of the greens

Family:
1. Salmon cakes, mac and cheese, and sweet potatoes – excellent
2. Turkey wings with gravy & onions, rice with gravy, and greens – delicious (not a fan of the rice with gravy)

Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to return. Kudos to the manager and the entire staff for such a wonderful experience!“
