Wood and Iron | Game Day Restaurant and Bar

We chose this restaurant to celebrate my mom's birthday, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish.

It took nearly 20 minutes for our server to even acknowledge our table. Throughout the meal, our drinks went unfilled, and the service remained extremely slow. To make matters worse, we waited an additional 35 minutes for what was supposed to be a warm apple butter cake, only for it to arrive frozen in the center.

After waiting another 15 minutes for our server to return so we could address the issue, I finally went to the front desk and asked to speak with a manager. The young man at the front desk told me I could not speak to a manager and that I would have to speak with a server instead.

As we were leaving, my mom spoke with a woman at the front desk who identified herself as the manager—the very manager I had been told I couldn't speak to. Rather than apologizing or taking responsibility for the poor service, she said she had just arrived for her shift. The employee who had refused my request then claimed he had never told me I couldn't speak to a manager, essentially calling my honesty into question.

What should have been a joyful birthday celebration turned into a frustrating experience where, instead of receiving good customer service, my integrity was questioned. A sincere apology and accountability would have gone a long way.

Sadly, we will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this restaurant to others based on our experience.

They used to have a grilled cheese on their kids menu that my daughter absolutely loved - they were the only place to make it like this - basically inside out bun with cheese on the middle. We went yesterday because she wanted one so bad. They didn’t have it on the kids menu anymore - I asked the server if he could ask the kitchen to make it - “it” being so simple = a piece of cheese and a hamburger bun. He came back and said sorry they can’t because they don’t do off menu requests. She was so disappointed and didn’t understand why something so simple was so hard to do. Agreeing with my eight year old and trying to find a solution - I asked the server could they just bring a bun and a piece of cheese at least. They did. They even went as far as toasting the bun - but God forbid they make a menu modification and put the cheese between it when doing so for the sake of making a little girl happy.

The manager was rude when my food wasnt cooked properly and bragged on hour yall smoke the wings for hour.. somehow my wings came out barely luke warm not grilled and on the pinker side. Then its like he wanted me to decide the soultion for my problem. He took they and said he would have them cook them very extra crispy. I ate like 1/2 when he brought them back and even took them home and then tossed them. This needs a major adjustment.

Best wings around
Our server was prompt and courteous.

We had a very embarrassing experience with a group of 19. One guest’s dinner was not delivered until we asked about 15 minutes after everyone else had been served and most of us were nearly finished. When she asked to cancel it because it was so late, the server initially refused and brought the dish out anyway. After checking with the manager, the waiter took back the meal, but still charged her full price for everything else.

I quietly tried to explain to the manager, Chris B., that our guest was upset and that the situation should have been handled better. Instead of apologizing, he became loud and belligerent about how busy they were, which was embarrassing and unprofessional.

It also felt like our large group received poor service because a 20% gratuity was already automatically added, and that charge was not very clear on the bill. Overall, the service and management response were very disappointing.

Great for subs and pizza. we have been going for 20 plus years.

Placed an order over the phone for pickup. Was told the food would be ready in 20 minutes. Recieved a notification 4 minutes later that the order was ready. Ordered the Fried Chicken sandwich with Honey Old Bay. A wedge salad as my side. Recieved an older filet of chicken. The filet was lukewarm. Breading soft, not crunchy at all. Not the quality I expected from this place. The sandwich is usually always hot and fresh, made to order.

Such a cute place. Great outdoor patio and half portions as well. My waiter was initially attentive and quickly lost interest. When I asked for a takeout box and a cup for my drink, he seemed to put off and even more so after I tipped him the lowest amount that I was given the option for after swiping my credit card. I usually tip service workers extremely well, but I am turned off when it's expected, especially when the options are 25%, 20% and 18%. Filling put on the spot I chose 18% when honestly, I would've given him closer to 12% because he wasn't so great.

Waited 30 minutes because they ran out of clean silverware only to be told the kitchen is backed up. You didn't seat one table for over 30 how is the kitchen backed up.

Had a great meal with my husband. He had sweet tea and the Baha fish tacos with sweet potato fries and I had fresh lemonade and the hand dipped chicken tenders with onion straws!!! Our server was very friendly and very attentive. Everything was delicious and the manager even came by our table and had a nice conversation with us!! Great atmosphere and clean bathrooms!!! Would definitely visit this place again!!!

I gave the food 2 stars. The amount of nachos was far but the chili was the worst I have ever had. It had a slight after taste to it. I was told it was beef but I really don't know. I did say I do not eat pork. It seemed like they put the chili and cheese on, put the dish in the microwave or oven and then added just a little more cheese on top to make it seem fresh. But the chips were hard and the cheese that had already soaked down to the bottom chips was also hard. This dish was not freshly made. I had to ask for more cheese just to eat it. I took the chili off as much as I could. I also had the wings but there wasn't much sauce on it. Plus that was not hot also. So I couldn't eat the wings. This food was not freshly cooked. We waited a good while before even getting the nachos. A family who just came in maybe 20 minutes after us got there food within 15 minutes of sitting down. I did not want to delay the meal by sending anything back and the server was really nice so I struggled through but had to take the food to go. But I did not eat it I just threw it away because there was no saving it. I added a photo you can see the cheese they added on top. If this was freshly made the cheese between the nachos could also be seen but but it cannot because that cheese is hard and darken from being warmed up while on the nachos

Ordered Cajun chicken Philly. There was no chicken in it, just onion, jalapeños and cheese. Ordered a pretzel for an appetizer which I had to cancel since the the entree came before the pretzel. Just a disappointing experience

Food was disappointing and slow to come out. Server complained that one of the other waiters didn't show up for work, so they were covering extra shifts.

The hamburger was surprisingly overseasoned, as were the Cajun fries and chicken on my crispy chicken salad. The crispy chicken salad had copious amounts of greens and a good amount of chicken but was lacking in a good balance of the other ingredients, including the corn and cucumber.
