I hope Kenny Bowers doesn't come in again and brandish his firearm like he did in 2018

Move to Virginia 3 years ago and this is the first chance we've had to go there for dinner. Very cool place I love older historic buildings like that. Bunny was our server and I had the prime rib and my wife had the shrimp and crab casserole both were delicious and Bunny treated us very graciously. Will definitely be returning at a future date.

Atmosphere and waitress we're very nice. Food was terrible. I wrote a detailed review and accidentally lost it. Stick to fried food, crab cakes are gross and they should embarrassed and ashamed to serve the popsicle stick thick flounder. atmosphere and prices suggest fine dining but don't be fooled.

I had a very nice time attending my first visit here. Everyone was very friendly and the food was great. Looks like a great place to host an event.

Five Star they have so good food . Great customer service ?.so fasey
We've been there several times over the years, since our farm is only a few miles away. The restaurant has a nice setting but the food is, in our opinion, pretty bad. They do try.

Wonderful restaurant full of charm. The food and wine were delicious. There are gluten-free options. The basement tavern is full of character. I look forward to visiting again.

We went to the Tavern on the Rail Friday, September 15th. There was a Private Party upstairs. We took the seating on the Patio. I really felt bad for our waitress! She was running herself ragged tending to the whole Patio by herself! There should have be 2 servers assigned to the Patio! Our Reservations were for 6:00. We received our salads and drinks sporadically. At one point, my Son went to the Bar to order a drink, he was reprimanded by the Owner to stay at his seat, and order through our Waitress. The Waitress was so busy she couldn’t remember where to run next let alone what 50-60 people were ordering. We were served our food at 7:25. By this time, we were eating by the little string of Christmas Lights. Basically, you could not see what you were eating. Once the sun went down, it got cold. There were no outdoor heaters. It became miserable! Two in my party ordered Prime Rib. This was the special and was excellent! It came with 2 sides. The lettuce for the Salad was old. The Mashed Potatoes were not hot and were a small portion. The two Shrimp Dinners were very good. The Oyster Dinner was the worst. My Husband got 6 oysters of a hefty price. This was My Birthday Dinner!

We stopped in to try out the newly reopened Tavern on the Rail for lunch. The food options and lunch specials were numerous and we decided on a crab cake sandwich, shrimp salad sandwich, fish and chips and prime rib steak and cheese. Everything came out hot and delicious. Reasonable lunch prices and I’ll definitely go back!
