The Inn far exceeded our expectations. The new owner, Owen, is the most amazing innkeeper: attentive, friendly, caring, good conversationalist, accommodating, easy-going...you name it. I cannot recommend the Inn at Montross any more highly. It's worth a stay even if you don't have any reason to be traveling nearby.
First stay at the Inn and definitely won’t be the last. Nothing negative to say. Owen the owner was more than accommodating and very friendly. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. You will not be hungry. Great front porch to relax and stay cool. Very beautiful…as a side note… best pillows ever in room. Actually ordered four for home!!!
Owen was an excellent host. He met us as we arrived and gave us a tour. In the morning he was happy to offer a delicious breakfast buffet with us. This was the first weekend that they offered breakfast to guests from the community as well. My only complaint about the experience was an oder in the bedroom area of the building. This might be due to the fact that the building is a historc building built in the 1700s. It could also be a moisture issue.
