We drive all the way from New York to get lunch here. It is one of our favorite restaurants in the country. Amazing food, even more amazing staff, and in a historic setting...it can't be beat! Try the Hot Apple Cider with Apple Brandy. And don't forget the Hoe Cakes, George Washington's favorite for a reason! Thank you! See you next year.
Lunch at The Mount Vernon Inn to catch up with a dear friend on a Wednesday afternoon. It was busy, but not too busy, clean, beautiful table by the window to enjoy the inside and outside views and server was attentive. Once we ordered, our food arrived efficiently, correct temperature, tasty and the portions were excellent (we each took some home). The parking is convenient with a short walk (and free) making it super easy. Definitely will visit again.
The service is always friendly. The food is very tasty. The ambiance is colonial of course. This is on the estate where George Washington lived so historic. We love the cornbread, and the mushroom Flatbread is sooo tasty. When they have the risotto I highly recommend it. And the cherry pie and and flourless Chocolate cake is delicious. We come once a year as we pass through Virginia. It's worth going out of our way
