Just tried Gordo's for lunch today and would recommend this place. I had the Chori-steak and it was excellent. Chips and salsa were fresh and tasty and the service was superb.

Ate here for the first time yesterday. Gordo's will be our go to Mexican restaurant now. The staff was friendly and attentive, chips & salsa came out hot and fresh each time. The food was excellent and portions were decent. Only thing missing is a little more decor to get the whole experience but that's a small critique.

Food here is the closest we can get to being back in cali. Plus i really like their horchata, birria tacos, shrimp civiche and ACP. Wish they still did the bean dip with chips but i understand the weird virginia white sauce. Will continue to come!

HORRIBLEEEE!!! Where the heck did Guapo go! Cause I HATEEEE Gordo’s. Customer service is TRASH!! They never understand what we are asking for at all, we left due to getting it wrong and being confused every time we asked for something. Prices are OUTRAGEOUS!!!! 5.99 for ONE TACO!!!!! Guapo’s was the best taco place in Newport News and Gordo’s is completely ruining it! I’ve been going there for YEARRSSSSSS!!! They will not see not another dollar from me. Omg I can’t stress how much I’m am so mad at the new management. I wouldn’t even do anymore especially to see the prices before and see what they are now with horrible service! Forget it!

Haven’t even finished my meal yet and I felt compelled to leave a review! Everything I tried was delicious! Best chips and salsa, coconut margarita is amazing and the enchiladas verdes were perfect. Will be visiting here again during my travels.

absolutely deceitful. I order a Coke and a birria burrito off the menu, $3.25 and $15.99. Fine that's OK. Then she brings me the bill which says the Coke is 599 and the burrito is 1999 so I show her the Coke inthe drinks menu and she says no that's the small Coke this is the big Coke. Then I tell her the burrito is $15.99 in the menu and she brings a completely different menu to me where the birria burrito is $$19.99. The last time I went to this place they told me the tacos were two dollars apiece on taco Tuesday and then when I get the bill they're charging me like 450 a taco and I say I thought these were 250 apiece on Tuesday, and they say no that's a different taco. All of this is very unfortunate because the food is actually very good but they're very disingenuous and the way they let you know the cost of anything. I absolutely cannot tolerate deceit or pettiness, oh and the homemade salsa that came out was rancid and I had to return it for fresher salsa.
