I was passing thru. I'm always up for some good carribean food. I walked in and a guy was sweeping or moping, he didn't speak. I kept walking to the counter, i saw a guy standing back there, maybe about 25-27 years old. I didn't get much of a greeting from him either. Island Jamaica Caribbean Restaurant is a great spot for authentic Caribbean food. The flavors are rich, the portions are generous, and everything tastes fresh and well seasoned. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere has a laid-back island vibe that makes you want to come back. If you’re craving real Jamaican food done right, this place is definitely worth a visit.
Came in right after opening. Ordered the lunch combo with jerk chicken, plantains, cabbage, and added a beef patty and coco bread.
Food came out very quickly, less than 10 minutes.
Coco bread was soft and hot, perfect to mop up the jerk chicken sauce
Beef patty was dry, but the seasoning of the beef was excellent and the crust was flaky
Cabbage was just okay, well cooked but a little bland
