This is a really good location for mellow mushroom. The unique decor pays homage to Newport News and their contribution to the shipping industry.
The pizza is perfectly toasted and the toppings are fresh and delicious. Some of the combinations are weird, but I get it.
Their specialty drinks are delicious. I tried their pomegranate margarita and I must say, chefs kiss

As a plant based person, I love Mellow Mushroom because I can always rely on finding a few good options. But I especially love the Mellow in Newport News. The staff is fantastic - great hospitality from the servers and bar, and the kitchen puts out high quality food. I always feel welcome. ALSO! They have a great happy hour from 3-7pm M-F.

My go to place for happy hour! Natalie, Pong and Tandy are very polite and kind. They always greet us with a warm welcome. They always remember our drink order and ask if we need anythIng. Great bartenders!
