Your new employee Chase was so sweet! He's a handsome young chap and I'm so glad you invited him to your team! Keep bringin' the good ones around ;)

They leave their location as open all the time on Maps but there’s no actual way to tell when they’ll be open. Drove there for it to be closed.

It wasn't open. I assume it closed for the season, but Google said that it was open

First time trying it and I love it. Very refreshing for this hot day.

Hired to come to Newport News library for Summer Reading Kickoff and didn’t show. So disappointed. Angry parent!

It was a cute experience. They had a wide array of flavors. A wonderful treat in 88 degree weather.

Went there three times and all those times they closed early, if you want to be a good business make sure your time is stated right online. I did check the times online, the first time I went it was about 7:30 and they told us before we could get out the car that they were closed but continued to take a group of young guys order. I then went again and it was 8:30 on a Saturday, when stated the place closes at 9 online, and it seemed like two young boys were closing the store down and turned off all the lights. Wasted my gas and never going back now.

They had less than half the stuff on the menu, but love the one in Norfolk.

Maybe an off day… One ice shaving machine, three annoyed employees, long line & a long wait! I noticed this place has high reviews so we gave it a shot. Maybe an off day, but $7.50 for shaved ice (not even full) & a table spoon of icecream… don’t think I will be back.

Please if you’re going to be closed for months have that reflected in your hours of operation. Such a waste of an hour driving to and from there just to give out that someone Lazy behind couldn’t update their google hours. Be responsible!!!

My family visited this Pelican's location on our way through town. First we stopped to check out the HUGE list of flavors on the front of the shop, including some seasonal specialties, then went around the side to place our order. I liked this layout because we have some indecisive folks in our group, and we didn't feel rushed; we also appreciated that the flavor list included descriptions of each flavor, as the names can sometimes be vague at shaved ice/snoball shops. I thought the prices were fair, the serving sizes were generous, and the smallest ("kiddie," IIRC) size was large enough that my tween couldn't finish it. The texture of the ice was great, easily spooned out of the cup instead of being the type that you have to chip away at, and there was no skimping on the syrups—plenty of flavor from start to finish. Two of us had toppings (one had caramel on sour apple, one had cream on tiger's blood/POG) and both toppings were delicious. Payment was processed through a tablet attached to the register, and there was an option to add a tip to the total. We ate our snoballs at picnic tables outside the shop; there were plenty of thick napkins stacked in front of the register and the tables were clean. It was the middle of a weekday, so it wasn't very busy. It was a pleasant place to take a break from traveling, and the snoballs were delicious—we'll stop by again if we're ever back in the area.
