The service was incredible we were the only people there. Unfortunately the guy running the place sat at the bar on tictok with his volume maxed. It was incredibly disruptive. The hot appetizer sampler was excellent. But when the meal arrived... A sampler of several kebabs, we were quite disappointed... I have never had to add salt at a Mediterranean restaurant before, the rice was dry and bland and almost flavorless, the lamb and beef kebabs were tough as shoe leather. Only...
This place hidden prices are beyond reasoning. The menu prices are misleading. We paid $200.00. Two people. We didn't ask if the prices for 2 or 4 were per person. We took food home, but over priced. The place is almost empty!
I’m so thankful that Saffron is here! David, the owner, brings an incredible level of experience and authenticity, having previously owned restaurants in New York City. The food is absolutely delicious, and it’s refreshing to have such authentic cuisine available in Hampton Roads. I especially appreciate the extensive gluten-free and vegan options, which can be difficult to find in our area.
