Went there for breakfast and had the breakfast corned beef breakfast sandwich. On a scale of 1 to 10. One being the worst it was a strong one. In years past when the restaurant was at it best and served a typical breakfast/brunch menu it was outstanding. At that time there were people standing in line to eat at Sage. -.Today 3/17/24 we ordered two sandwiches that were on the menu and neither were available at 10:16 in the morning.Service was also a strong one. We were instructed to retrieve our own coffee. They also had a tip jar at the register. For what!!! Do you really tip for no service or quality of food. I have never before given a restaurant review, because this one was warranted.

4.5⭐️We showed up about 20mins before they closed, and didn’t realize it until after we ordered. They were closing everything and turning lights off. So we kind of rushed to eat. I got the grilled cheese pesto with chips, and my husband got the Reuben with fries. Everything was VERY GOOD. We just kinda rushed through the food so we wouldn’t keep them there. Not their fault at all, we should’ve checked the time they closed. We just didn’t get to relax and enjoy the food either. But everything we got was amazing and we will be trying them again. Definitely recommend.

It was my first time visiting, but my daughters 2nd. We went for breakfast and let me say that we were not disappointed. We could've shared a meal because the portions were so much. We both could only eat 1/2 of our meal and took the rest home. The owner even came out to see how we were doing and was very sweet. I loved the atmosphere and the vibes. I will definitely be back to try his other dishes soon.

I haven't been here since before COVID-19, the food was great then and the food was great now. I ordered the half-chicken salad sandwich and half salad. My meal was prepared and tasted delish. Unfortunately, the dispenser for iced sweet tea wasn't sweet at all. I'd been better off with a glass of water. Otherwise, the service was great. I took note they made a few changes due to Covid, but the food didn't suffer. I wouldn't mind coming back for lunch again. The dining area looked almost as it did before Covid, the difference is you now have to order and pay first at the counter, pick up a "marker" and they will bring your order to your table if you're dining in. A very clean place nestled inside

Great hidden gem in Newport News. I was surprised to see an eatery at a garden center, and it fits perfectly. The food was great, the service was excellent and the atmosphere is just right. I'll definitely return.

We’ve lived here 20 years and have never stopped to eat here! We enjoyed the food, had the Brussel Sprout appetizer(huge), the Pork Belly Bowl and the Chicken Salad croissant. All was very good, I would have preferred my sandwich on bread rather than the very buttery croissant. If I have it again, I will request that. The prices are a bit high, but the quality is good. ? We’ll be back. ?
