Schlesinger's Steakhouse

Schleshinger's is always an AMAZING dining experience. Delectable food, outstanding service and a lovely atmosphere. It is where I take friends and family for birthdays and celebrations as it is a definite hit with everyone!

We ordered the Prime Rib and it was delicious! The right amount of dishes came with it and we left well satisfied.

I've always enjoyed the food and atmosphere dining at this restaurant. This time was a bit difficult to enjoy. The staff was amazing and the food was great. My only complaint was the small flies. They were everywhere I turned. My guest and I were finding ourselves spending more time waving off flies than enjoying our meal, which took away from our experience. If our bread wasn't covered they would have been all over that as well. One even landed in my drink. While staff was quick to give me a new drink, it is not an experience I would wish to have again. Like a stated earlier. I've always had a great experience dining at this restaurant. I hope they're able to resolve this issue soon. I greatly enjoy their atmosphere, attention to detail the staff provides, and most importantly the food.

This was our first visit - we went to celebrate our anniversary - and everything was fantastic. We loved our appetizer, the steaks & sides, the dessert, the wine - and the whiskey / bourbon list is also quite good. The service was awesome, too - Candice filled us with confidence from the beginning. Highly recommended!

I've visited your restaurant several times and always been satisfied with the service and food. However, this time my wife and I were completely underwhelmed by our server. We got the distinct impression that since we were ordering the two medallion special that we weren't spending enough money and he would be happy if we just ate and left. In my previous visits, I have spent hundreds on each bill....bringing both clients and my staff....this visit makes me question if I will return. As an example, I was served a potato with toppings...when the server saw that the toppings had fallen all over the tablecloth...he just left it. I ended up covering it with my napkin. Again, he treated us like he didn't want us at his table...so maybe Schlesinger's will get his wish.

We enjoy dining at Schlesingers. It's a pleasure to dine without loud music and televisions going. The service is wonderful and the food is excellent. Dinners can be pricey, so we love to go there for lunch. We have never had a bad experience.

The service and ambience are impeccable , as expected for a fine dining establishment. The manager personally came over and greeted our table, which was very nice. What was a disappointment, and I say this is someone who has frequented and worked in fine dining places for decades, was the food- from the lack of appropriate aging and seasoning to the undercooking of the filet medallions, which the table beside us also mentioned; the less than impressive desserts, especially the bananas Foster cheesecake, which tasted more like someone's summer potluck banana pudding, and less like an elegant, fine dining dessert. The chocolate mousse dessert was delicious, as was the coconut cake which was standard and tasted good. The after- dinner mints were generically -wrapped butter mints. I think a more elegant chocolate mint would serve them better. (Even Olive Garden uses Andes mints). Butter mints were in about 50 years ago. This was my third time at Schlesinger's and I likely won't return due to these issues. Their sister testaurant, Opus 9 has never disappointed with the exception of their creme brulee. 

Food and service was excellent. I will say, swatting fruit flies was exhausting and kind of diminished the overall dining experience. They should close down for a bit to address that issue!

First the waitress from the start of the meal was rude and not friendly she was very rude and not professional then they messed up on our drinks order then had the nerve the waiter and the bartender got caught in a lie about the drinks they served us and over charged us for my wife’s drink then second the evening was suppose to be my husbands birthday dinner turning 50 they ruined the whole evening the meals came out at diffrent times and for that reason cause my husbands 90$ New York strip came out wrongly cooked so my meal was on the table they had to recook his meal so we didn’t even get to eat together cause my meal would of got cold do u see where im going with this then they had the nerve to bring a card at the end saying happy birthday I mean to be a high end restaurant steakhouse we been here several times and this time was not the service or the food of a upscale restaurant even after all these issues at our setting not one time did the manager come and check at the issues or even address them it was like he was avoiding the situations that was taking place for a 300 hundred dollar meal it’s was not worth it and they ruined the occasion thank you and your staff for a disappointing night

Great dinner experience last night a Schlesinger's. Very relaxed atmosphere and our meal was delicious. We both had a ribeye steak with a baked potato. The side of creamed spinach was great. A wonderful place to have a meal at an upscale restaurant.

My husband and I dine here often especially for special occasions. The waitress Candice was awful. Instead of correcting the problem, she dismissed me. I asked for an espresso martini made with Baileys. I know what the drink looks like with Bailey's in it, but she quickly insisted it's in there. I went to the bar. Her and the bartender was having a conversation about the drink. The bartender told me she had to charge me for extra shot to include the Baileys......$12. She charged me extra for an espresso martini with Bailey's. I just ate their last week. I didn't get charged for Bailey's in my espresso martini. My husband had to send his ribeye steak back because they didn't cook it correctly. The service sucks and it's normally good. I did not enjoy my experience at this restaurant at all for my husband‘s 50th birthday. Candace and the bartender sucked !!!!horrible customer service horrible. 

We've been going to Schlesinger's since it opened over 20 years ago. It has been providing consistently good food and outstanding service each time we've dined there. It's a great place for a quiet dinner or a big celebration as they have a couple of rooms that can be reserved for such occasion.

Schlesinger’s is a “sister” restaurant to Opus 9 in Williamsburg where we’ve eaten many times. They are very similar but some differences. Appetizers were New Orleans Shrimp and Caesar Salad. The shrimp were in a wine and butter sauce but not true New Orleans style. Caesar Salad was average. Mains were small filet which was good, cooked properly to the desired temperature, and the Seafood Trio, crab cake, shrimp, and scallops. The Trio at Opus 9 comes with various sauces while there was no sauce for the crab cake or scallops at Schlesinger’s. Disappointing. Desserts were simple, ice cream for me, berries for the wife. Both were good and exactly what we wanted. They were expensive but knew that going in. High marks overall but I prefer Opus 9 in Williamsburg.
