I love this place. My favorite steakhouse in Norfolk. I generally prefer to eat downstairs as it's more casual, and doesn't have a dress code. Either way, the service is always great and the food is excellent. Had their dry aged ribeye last time, and I would order it again.

5 stars for the servers and all the staff who were genuinely helpful. But one star goes to the manager who double booked my sister’s wedding. Absolutely unprofessional, and completely avoidable by making sure a booked room doesn’t get booked again. This was not a simple birthday party, but it was someone’s wedding. The servers were so nice and they were the ones in the front lines making sure everyone was cared for, so in no way is this review about them. They were the true professionals in this place.

Visited for the first time to attend a wedding celebration of friends. The restaurant apparently double booked another wedding in error. It was a disaster. Took hours to get appetizers and our meal. My steak was not cooked well, was tough, and the sides were cold. My husband requested medium well and got rare. The servers were very kind and I could tell they were trying hard to accommodate everyone. It was overall a very disappointing and a lackluster experience. Definitely not a great first impression :(

My wife and I enjoyed a an exceptional dinner at the classiest restaurant in the area. The service, food, ambiance, and professionalism were top notch. We had veal and steak and both were cooked to perfection with tasty sides. What a wonderful experience. Highly recommend for a special night or a special cocktail at the bar.

We had such a wonderful experience. My 15 year old wanted a nice dinner with her friends and I'm so glad we chose Byrd and Baldwin. It made me realize I need to eat there more often. It had been years. I also brought her older sister and my best friend (one of the other girl's mother). It was elegant but also relaxed. The staff especially our server (I'm so sorry I have forgotten his name) were beyond excellent. Friendly and down to earth but very professional and excellent at their job. Thank you for making it special for her.

We pulled up to courteous and professional valet attendants.Upon walking in, we were greeted by the host, who had a warm and friendly smile. He was eager to escort us to our table. The ambiance and decor was all you’d imagine for a Michelin star restaurant. We were taken care of by Amber, who knew the menu as if she penned each dish. Her knowledge of what foods would pair well with their extensive cocktail list; made our dining experience top-tier.I had the lamb and my husband the steak. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and plated well. The drinks were equally divine. Whether you enjoy a crafted cocktail, bourbon, or a glass of wine; they have it all.We finished the night with the key lime pie, which was a perfect balance of sweet and tart. At no time, did we feel as though we weren’t the most important table. I had my 41st birthday dinner here, and the customer service was top tier from all of the staff. The valet, greeters, the bartender, the wait staff and the FOH/BOH were all impeccable. Our table had Noah as our sever, he did such an amazing job. He helped with appetizers, entrees and provided exquisite house specials. I highly recommend dining here and please request Noah, and treat him well! We will be back, the she crab soup is the best I have tasted in Hampton Roads. We have dined here previously; therefore had a specific expectation level in regards to service. Our initial server did not meet this expectation; however Lexi (i think that was her name) the manager- stepped in and provided us with a more suitable server- Frank. Experience and food was top notch! The best A5 grade steak in the Hampton Roads area. We will return SOON!

The best filet mignon I have ever had. Cooked medium rare- perfect color inside, warm throughout, exquisitely tender, seasoned to perfection, with a crispy sear. Drinks were also delicious, as was the mashed potatoes and crab soup.
Very lovely experience. i felt like i was in some sort of simulation because of all of the mirrors lol but the ambiance was super nice, and the food is definitely worth every singular penny. THAT CHEF KNOWS HOW TO COOK A STEAK
My husband and I dine at this establishment on special occasions. It's our favorite. You cannot go wrong with the tuna tartare, the crab cakes, or their filets. Everything this place serves is delicious and unlike it elsewhere.
