About 219 Bistro

219 Bistro is a popular spot for a meal before an event. The menu offers a variety of options, including the highly recommended black bean burger with grilled Brussels sprouts and honey Sriracha side. The restaurant also serves delicious dishes such as octopus, which is noted as one of the best appetizers, fried green tomatoes, and she-crab soup. Well-plated entrees like short ribs and steak add to the experience. The drunk duck burger is a standout option, although it can be overcooked at times. The atmosphere is upscale yet casual, making it a great spot for a date night. The attentive staff, including a popular bartender and friendly servers, contribute to enjoyable evenings, even when the restaurant is full and lively. Prices are on the higher side, but many guests feel the quality justifies it. Recent reviews highlight prompt, attentive, and professional service, with some guests enjoying excellent she crab bisque and wedge salads. The staff’s warm and attentive service was especially appreciated during a holiday visit. Some visitors have tried dishes like gnocchi, grilled salmon, and filet au poivre, all cooked perfectly and tasting fantastic. While most experiences are positive, a few guests mention that fish tacos they ordered to go were not good, possibly due to timing or temperature issues. Overall, 219 Bistro remains a well-loved restaurant with a great atmosphere and quality food.

Our "Norfolk Restaurant Week" dinner was outstanding. The server was adorable. Our meals were delicious - especially the crab bisque and the Prime Rib. The $45 3 course menu was varied and we all enjoyed our meals. Our group agreed we need to go back more often. Another plus was the valet parking available from Byrd and Baldwin around the corner (owned by same group).

This was our first time here. We went for restaurant week. We both did the $45 3 course meal. We will be back!!!

Nice table for 2 was immediately available upon our arrival, important since we had show tickets. The food was outstanding, especially the bacon wrapped stuffed figs and grilled octopus appetizers. Highly recommend 219 Bisto and will go again.
