I've been wanting to visit this cute bakery for a while, so I was excited to finally stop by. When I arrived an hour after opening, the place was empty. There were three staff members—a barista, a cashier, and a bakery attendant. Of the three, only the bakery attendant greeted me with a friendly "Good morning," which I appreciated. The barista completely ignored me and the cashier was borderline unfriendly.
I would have liked a moment to browse the menu and bakery selection, but the cashier seemed impatient. A simple, "Is this your first time here? Would you like any recommendations?" would have been good enough.
I ordered the quiche which was bland. I also ordered the gluten free strawberry bar and that was absolutely delicious, so I might be back just for that.

Always excellent baked goods and service! Amazing pumpkin spiced croissant, and tried their dark chocolate bourbon pecan pie and spiced pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving - delicious and fantastic!

Very small bakery/cafe. Very limited food options but very cute decor and very informative and patient staff. If you want a place with lots of indoor dining options, this may not be your spot. But if you enjoy a small cafe away from
The hustle and bustle of the city, with great baked goods and good mint lemonade, this is your spot. There is some outdoor dining available as well. There is a free parking lot nearby, and once you park, you can explore the other nearby shops as well. Great little spot.

We absolutely love May’s Parlor!! The BEC breakfast sandwich is one of my all-time favorite breakfast sandwiches, and their flavored lattes are the best in Norfolk.

Went today for the first time and was blown away. We had the quiche of day and it was the best I've had hands down. Also had the pumpkin chiphon cake that was absolutely delicious. Can't wait to go back.
Cruffin tasted very good, although the format is a bit challenging to eat. The quiche was alright, I just wish it came with something more (like a side salad) so it could work as lunch. There is a large free parking right next to the shop.

I have been a home baker my whole life. I grew up competing in county fairs, placing against adults by age eight. I've had the opportunity to eat pastries all over France. I am not a professional by any means, but I know what good baking tastes like. Everything I've been served here has been incredible. Perfectly baked. Incredible attention to detail and consistency. Flavors are always completely on point. It's a treasure to have nearby. Staff are always pleasant. Coffee drinks, again, just the attention to detail on flavors is wonderful. Everyone seems happy to be there, which is also really nice to see. They have limited, but available gluten free items, too. Usually an assortment of 1-3 rotating baked goods and a wide variety of macarons.

One of my favorite cafes/bakery. The pastries are fresh and there's always a pretty big selection and new ones every week. The drink menu is huge and there's new flavors all the time. The space inside is super cute and inviting. There's never a wait and there's a few tables inside and few tables outside. It's a busy place but there's always seating. Clean bathroom. Everytime I go I always get extra cookies, they're huge and so delicious. Anything you get here, you can't go wrong, always delicious.

I visited VA beach back in July and tried May’s Parlor.
I have literally been craving their chocolate croissants SINCE THEN and I’m states away- which is obviously why I’m compelled to write a review, months later.
Definitely would visit again! <3

I was gifted three tasteless, dry, inedible macaroons Saturday from May's and am stunned by the previous comments. Not sure when or where your previous macaroons experience was but I can promise May's was the polar opposite. The double chocolate was the best of the three but that's not a compliment. The lavender macaroon tasted like soap and I'm not sure what the tan macaroon was, but other than sugar and shortening? any other food profile was absent. Perhaps the bakers had a bad day but these tasted of bad factory and cardboard box.
One of the BEST breakfast sandwiches in the area. The brioche bread is INSANE. Definitely recommend trying
