Amazing, no-nonsense pork barbecue. The smoked wings were crispy, tender, and smoky. Hush puppies were the perfect balance, moist yet crispy. Side of pecan pie was a perfect end to the meal.

The BBQ was dry, cold, and tasted old. The battered fries were under cook. It was way over priced for poor quality and taste. You could have a much better meal made from the grocery store for a much more reasonable price. This was a huge disappointment. I would not want it again, even if it was free.

I was met by a nice gentleman that went over the menu and made recommendations.. also, he had me try out his homemade barbecue sauce!! It was really good!!! It takes some time to get the order because of having to wait for French fries and hush puppies to cook.. I recommend this place!! Not great looking from the outside, but some of my best restaurants have had this same appeal!!

Cute place, large portions and great barbecue pork sandwiches. We had a piece of homemade pecan pie, with lots of pecans! They also make a homemade tomato vinegar sauce that's just delicious. We make this a regular stop when we come through Norfolk.

Pulled pork was more like ground pork. Unpleasant texture. Gave me almost no coleslaw. Didn’t enjoy my meal, would not go

Me and my son come here every year when we are visiting family. The inside is what you would hope for in a hole in the wall BBQ joint. It's clean and the owner is friendly. We always stick with just Jumbo Sandwich combos. He has a wide array of sauces to use as well. Prices are comparable to similar places. I recommend this place for anyone that likes the mom and pop places over the chains.Parking: There are about 6 spots to park, but I never had an issue.

My dad, Chuck Ridgeway, brought me here years ago and I fell in love with the wings! They’re smoked and deep fried, I can honestly say they have some of the best wings I’ve tried in my life. 10/10 I will always recommend!

I've only had lunch I at this place a couple of times. It's definitely small, I believe 2 little tables and 5 or 6 barstools but, that doesn't mean you shouldn't give this Patriot owned place a try. When I've ate here, I like to sit at the counter and visit with the owner while I'm waiting for him to prepare my order. He's a friendly, guy with a lot of local history of the area and eager to share it. He'll let you eat in peace also. I tried the small chopped? pork sandwich which was small with a side of fries. Combo I believe. Fries were hot and fresh. Not a big selection of BBQ sauces as I believe this place has more of an East Coast vinegar selection than tomato based sauces. I tried one which looked the closest to a tomato based sauce and it was delish! The sauce accented the flavor of the pork which is the point of it. I remember seeing an Old Bay sauce also. I had a fountain drink which was replenished as so needed as well. It's a small, clean BBQ and has been around a long time. You should try them if you're in the area.

We met these folks through mutual friends and tried their nostalgic little diner for BBQ and sides. Not only is their BBQ chopped Carolina style was out of this world and the sides were delicious! She is a marvelous baker so getting one or two or 4 of her fresh baked desserts are a must! Great prices too!

Tired of the Thanksgiving fare, so stopped in with my daughter for lunch. DELICIOUS! We dined at the counter and had a nice chat with the owner. I'll be a regular!!

The BBQ was western style it was a tomato based sweet BBQ . I prefer Eastern style vinegar based. The meat was good. I got French fries, they were good they were the coated kind. All in all everything was good and I probably will be back.
