Sat outside on the patio with our pup-- had called ahead to make sure they had sunday brunchtime availability, and we arrived to our table already set up and a bowl of fresh water put out for our dog. Super attentive service throughout-- excellent machiattos, freshly squeezed orange juice, and 10/10 quesadillas and eggs benedict (actual proper bennies, perfect consistency). The kids enjoyed their meals as did we. Would return! Highly recommend.
This is the best restaurant anywhere near Old Dominion University and they have a Reuben sandwich with an apple slaw. That is unbelievable. If you do not come here to eat this sandwich, you have shortchanged yourself. I love the Starving Artist Cafe and everything about it.
Casual and low-key dining experience. Some people dressed up (after church?), some people in t-shirts and shorts. Table and counter seating. Vegan/vegetarian options. I had the sweet potato salad without the goat cheese - it was nice and fresh.
