Eclectic and quirky restaurant for authentic, delicious Southern food, with an emphasis on fresh seafood. I got the pork platter, and my husband got the shrimp gumbo. Both were excellent! The space is decorated with eccentric but fun decor, and our server was very friendly. Skip it if you’re in a rush; it’s the kind of place to slow down, unwind, and enjoy a great meal.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I watched in disbelief as a man and his child were denied service simply because the staff claimed they “couldn’t verify” a valid passport as identification. A passport, one of the most secure and internationally recognized forms of ID, wasn’t good enough? That’s not just poor training; it borders on discriminatory and deeply unprofessional.

This wasn’t a case of confusion. The attendee seemed dismissive and made no real effort to handle the situation with respect or logic. Turning away a paying customer and his child for no valid reason reflects badly on your establishment. In 2025, we expect better! Better training, better judgment, and most of all, basic decency.

Won’t be returning. And I won’t recommend this place to anyone who values fairness or common sense.

An image is worth a thousand words, so…
Please take a closer look at the price of the cheese on the bill and at the cheese board that came with it, $47 for 3 standard cheeses (no prices listed anywhere on the cheese menu).

Plus, our appetizer, cheese course, and 1 entree took over two hours to arrive, despite the restaurant being less than half full.

It wasn’t about the wait, but the feeling of being completely ripped off.

Not recommended at all, unless you're eager to pay over $3 per slice for the most expensive cheese you've ever had.

Stopped in with high hopes—great ambiance, super friendly service, and a nice mix of well-dressed patrons and laid-back diners (I rocked shorts and a t-shirt, no judgment).

We ordered the flounder and gumbo; both were fine but lacked the savory depth we expected. Not a spice issue—just needed more richness to bring the flavors to life.

The cheese appetizer was a hit, and the coconut dessert absolutely nailed it.

Overall? Would recommend trying it, especially for apps and dessert. But flavor-wise, it’s not making my regular rotation just yet.

Absolutely fantastic meal. Ordered the summer salad, fish of the day and blood orange cheese cake. Everything had a touch of unexpected pleasant surprises (even the bread had hints of fennel seeds or cumin seeds, smoked tomatoes added a dimension to the freshness of the salad, ..)

Highly recommend this restaurant.

The decor is very inviting. Superb service.

This is what I imagine taking LSD is like. You enter into an alternate universe (Planet Zulu) and before you came come to grips with reality, the cocktails spiral you back into this alternate dimension. Then the food comes with no frills, but with a certain elevated quality that is out of this world good. I'm glad I made the trip from Planet Epsilon. I'm thinking I might stay here on Zulu for a while longer. The Mississippi-bred turned demi god turned chief cook's voodoo powers have made impeccable impact.

P.S. beware of the U.F.Os scattered on the walls as their beauty is strangely alluring.
