Sadly the customer service is beyond poor. They are not friendly by any means. Poor eye contact and extreme manner of overworked and irritated employees. Always out of one thing or another. Just terrible. Sadly, their food is decent but their attitude is so poor makes you not want to patronize again.

The food here is always great, and the people are nice. I'd venture to say it's certainly one of best soul food places in the area.Parking: It's in a shopping center with plenty of parking.
I ordered Mac and cheese yams and barbecue chicken. Food was horrible to say the least. The yams taste it like they came straight out of the can. In addition, the mac & cheese was very dry, and it did not have much flavor. The bbq chicken was just horrible… bbq tasted like chemicals. Never again!

1st time eating here tonight and what a pleasant surprise. The cashier was really personable and nice. I was in and out in about 10 minutes and part of that was getting through the line. Food was really good. My wife loved the yams. I'm a big guy and was barely able to finish the whole meal. I would definitely recommend trying this place.

I used to frequent this place on a regular basis until now. The food is absolutely awesome. However, the customer service leaves a lot to be desired for. I am on a time restriction for lunch.I only get 30 minutes. I called yesterday to place an order and was told they were not taking orders. I was like ok, a little puzzled as to why, but just went with it. So, I called again today and with attitude was first asked what would I like and then was told there was no line and that I would need to come in and order. That is terrible service as far as I am concerned. You don’t ask me what I want and then tell me to come in because there is no line. Makes no sense. Again I am on a time restriction. Needless to say I am done with this establishment. If you can’t take the time to take my order, then you don’t deserve my business, period!!

Got a veggie plate and I couldn't taste any flavor with the collards just tasted like a box of black pepper was dumped on it .Mac,collards and yams none of it was good today no flavor,nothing to remember. Just hot and spicy cillards.

The server was patient and explained everything that was on the lunch menu.I got the smothered pork chops with green beans and mashed potatoes. The food was well seasoned and comforting.I will definitely be back as the food is delicious and the prices are fair.
I recommended this place to my friend, so he picked up smoother porkchop, yams, and greenbeans for me last night around 7:30 and it was horrible! You only get one chance with me to mess up. I don't care how many 5 stars you have. My yams were hard, the chops were hard and dry from the inside and the cornbread was dry! Everything is good when you're smoking weed, and this couldn't even pass that test. Trash

Inviting as soon as you open the front door!I've only ordered carryout however never disappointed with quality and quantity of food. I get multiple items off the menu just to see what my favorite will be. This far the meatloaf and fried chicken wings but then the turkey wings are on point s well but wait the smothered pork chops were hitting too. I'm just saying I'm never disappointed when visiting. And I'm going for dinner tonight.
The collard greens are edible like they are good but you can definitely tell they are canned and missing the garlic and vinegar first bite had me in a chokehold then the after taste started choking me out if you catch my drift it just taste like it’s missing something other than that I still ate em so..

I visited Thee Soulfood Kitchen for the first time this evening with my boyfriend. We chose this restaurant because I’ve been craving fried catfish. We got a seafood platter with crab cakes, fried shrimp, catfish, Mac n cheese, and green beans. We also ordered the smothered chicken with green beans and rice with gravy. The food was absolutely phenomenal. It’s some of the best food I have had in a very long time! The green beans were hands down the best green beans I’ve ever had in my life. The Mac n cheese was so moist and cheesy. When my boyfriend picked up his drumstick, all of the meat fell off the bone. Flavors are incredible and quality of the food is so high. We also got beverages and two cornbread muffins. The cornbread was fresh, sweet, and moist. The best cornbread I’ve ever had. We paid around $43 for our meal before tip, and we would have happily paid $65 before tip for the quality of the food we received. We went on a Tuesday evening and aside from a few takeout orders, we were the only people sitting down eating. They deserve to have a line out the door every single day from open to close. We will be back, and when we move to NC we will happily make the 3.5 hour drive one way just to eat here.
