Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards is a dream setting for a wedding! The mountain views, vineyard vibes, and beautifully designed spaces create such a romantic and elevated atmosphere. We've had the honor of performing here and are always blown away by how smoothly the events run, thanks to the kind and attentive staff. It's truly a venue that makes every moment feel magical.
I read some good reviews of this place before I came so I was pretty excited to try it.
This winery has great views- but that’s where it stops. The service is absolutely terrible. We reserved three tables of about 26 people, and they assigned one waitress to do all three. The waitress introduced a second server when we sat down, but we never saw him again. The poor waitress forgot our pizza while everyone else got their food. Then we had to remind her several times that we still didn’t get it. By the time it came, everyone was done eating.
Then to add insult to injury, while we were trying to settle up the bill, some young kid that worked in the front had the nerve to rudely tell us to get up, as he had another party to sit. It’s not like we were lingering around wasting time. And it wasn’t our fault your establishment forgot our food while the rest of our party’s tables got up and left. Never have I ever been told to get up from a table before, especially when we were trying to pay the bill.
Overall, the service and the food were crappy, and I saw enough. Heck even most of the red wines weren’t very good. I won’t patronize this place ever again. This place needs to look deep inside and see if they should serve food, or act like a winery. Because they can’t seem to do both.
Beautiful views!
But 4oz glass of wine for $14 is absolutely ridiculous!!
Don’t like Lin Easton and what she’s doing to Albemarle. This was our fair grounds. She won’t let the public come and click pics. Our fair grounds are for her gain only and $300k paid twice to Easton during Covid. Why?
Pippin Hill was the first stop on a wine tour for my friend. Upon arriving, my friend (the bride) was pulled aside and told that due to a contract clause with future Pippin Hill brides, she could not appear or present as a bride and so she had to take a simple “Bride” headband off. I’m sorry…. WHAT? What kind of bizarre rule is that? My friend celebrating a special milestone in her life detracts from someone else doing the same? One bride wouldn’t be able to picture her magical day here because my friend is wearing a headband? This happened on International Women’s Day, no less; though this rule is ridiculous no matter the day. Left a bitter taste that not even the just-fine Cab Franc could wash away.
It’s a beautiful space and I enjoyed the wines I tried, but I was disappointed in the service. Although we had a reservation, my table was pushed out to make way for another reservation less than 90 minutes after we arrived — this, after we had just ordered another tasting from a waiter who had passed by. Our original server, who had not been seen since dropping off our previous order, then came to the table and informed us that we would have to take our tasting elsewhere. We were then put in the big room they use for events, where we were stuck at a table, alone, while workers broke down all the tables around us.
Given the cost, it was a disappointing and kinda weird end to the visit. Along with the fact that they do not explain anything about their wines or their origin, as you might expect with a tasting elsewhere, I left feeling like this is a lovely event space that also happens to serve wine.
The views are of course wonderful. However they had 1 person to help the 100+ people in line. It took over an hour to get to the front, when we finally did get a bottle it was nearly room temp and they didn't have much ice to give us in the chiller. Then after having it for only 20 minutes, we were told we had to be out shortly due to a private event. All in all, not worth it. Too many beautiful wineries around the area that are better equipped for the large crowds.
We had a wonderful experience, only elevated by our server, Demetria. We felt welcomed and appreciated by her as customers of this beautiful establishment. While some of the staff, unfortunately, were not quite as welcoming and seemingly distracted by upcoming events (we had a reservation, also) — Demetria singularly made up for that with her welcoming smile and excellent service. Thank you, Demetria!!
The wine was lovely, the food was fantastic, the views were sensational, & the service was exemplary!
Heard great things about this place. Beautiful day so my husband and I headed that way. When we arrived, we did not have a reservation. That was OK as long as we could get a seat outside to enjoy the beautiful view. We were told that we could sit outside, but we would not receive any service. So, beings that we had never been there and tasted their wine, we had to go inside to order a flight. After our flight, we picked our favorite and ordered a glass and headed outside. We would have ordered food, but did not because beings we did not have a reservation, no service. We would either gone inside or ordered from a hostess. Then we would pick up the food in a box. For that price, I did not want to eat any food out of a box. And I am sure, whoever we picked the box up from would have expected a tip. To me that is no service. I am sure this is a great place if you have a reservation! Otherwise, personally, I would not go again.

The views, the staff, the food, all superb. One of my favorite places to dine!
We went wine tasting at different vineyards in the area and we stopped here because we always heard great things. The views were lovely but the service was not the best. Every staff member we encountered were extremely rude. The wine tasting in the little bottles were convenient to tote around but $22 was a bit steep for hardly any wine. The froze (frozen rose) was not good and way overpriced for what you got. We were super disappointed ? great location though!
We've been coming here for four years now, and we have a lovely time every time. The food is delicious and freshly prepared. Today, we had Darryl as our server, and he took such great care of us, adding in special details and making us feel at home.
First and foremost the customer service was outstanding! From the host to the server everyone was friendly. We arrived during the late fall, so not much of a crowd. Reservations are recommended, but not required. There is indoor and outdoor seating. You can't bring your own food.
The views are phenomenal! It's so peaceful. I love seeing the garden and the growth of the plants and herbs.
The food was mostly fresh from the garden. A lot of the menu options are seasonally inspired. My favorite dish on the menu is Apple Toast. It was full of flavor, fresh vegetables and obviously apples. I didn't get an opportunity to try the pizza, but I understand it's freshly made including the dough.
Lots of delicious wine options. I enjoy the white wine flight.
I can't wait to go back during the spring!
Such a beautiful place
