Madigans is a nice atmosphere on a super dry and bright sunny day. Other than that it's depressing. The service is extremely hit or miss. I have never had food there that was anything to speak of. I'm starting to think those who recommended the food were drunk. Unfortunately I've also never had a well balanced cocktail there. The same drinks taste completely different at each of their bars. Upstairs, downstairs and tiki all the drinks taste different. Their events are pretty good though. I can at least say that.

The cream of crab chowder is the best I've had in the state of Va.

I've eaten here a couple of times years ago and wasn't too impressed. Fast forward to this past weekend, since the weather has been nice, I decided to make us reservations for brunch and what a great decision. We shared delicious avocado toast with a hefty serving of smoked salmon. I tried something different with the breakfast burrito. Oh goodness, this thing is big enough to feed a family of four and was perfectly made. Filled with scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, peppers, topped with pico, cheese, and avocado, served with a side of cilantro dressing. This was not a typical burrito, it was lightly grilled and was easily cut with a knife and eaten with a fork. My friend went with the traditional breakfast. We both had a cocktail with brunch and both were made perfectly. Food was amazing! Service was outstanding! Outside atmosphere was picturesque with potential. Although the patio can use an update with canoes and such slightly distracting from the waterfront view, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Madigan's Waterfront.

Local spot! The Tiki Bar is my favorite spot to be here with nice views of the Occoquan River. The fish Tacos and Piña Coladas are so good!

This was our second visit for brunch. Our server was very responsive and attentive, but the food and response from the manager were underwhelming. I ordered the spinach and feta omlette, it came out with no feta. The biscuits were bordering on burnt and the house chips my husband ordered tasted like they were cooked in old oil. While the manager came out, she seemed less than concerned and askedme if she couldtake my plate to go show the chef. We were told our meal would be discounted. The total discount was $8.50, so our tab for 4 was still over $100. The side of bacon I ordered for an additional $5.00 was not quite 2 slices of bacon and our friends ordered a side of fruit, $8.00 for a small bowl. The location is nice and we will likely give it another try but this was definitely not a homerun visit.

We won't go there again. Food was mediocre and much too salty. My wife got the shaved beef sandwich which was small and not worth $18 because they add $2 for getting their crappy fries instead of a bag of potato chips. We felt ripped off because they stick it to you on the bill: we only got the $16 breakfast burrito and $18 beef sandwich, no drinks except water, and yet the final bill was just over $40 before tip. Guess what? They charged over 3 percent of the final bill as a Visa credit card service fee, and that's on top of the Occoquan city tax of 3.5 percent, the 6 percent state sales tax, and some other fee that I can't recall. Of course they didn't say anything about their 3+ percent credit card service fee, and they caught me by surprise because we're just not used to any self-respecting and decent sit-down restaurant tacking on a Visa credit card service fee. What sneaky scoundrels. Save your money unless you're on a high salt diet and have no where else to go.

I have been a patron for over 20 years and the family strives to make it better and better each year from the delicious weekend brunch to the amazing dinner menu. The porch side dining is my favorite as the restaurant has the space for any size party you can never go wrong with seating whilr receiving top service provided from the time you enter.
