This restaurant is great! The ladies that make it work everyday are Fantastic!! Really good people!! 🤗💐
I come here every day they are open.
If you happen to like liver & onions, which I do, this is the place for you.
And for breakfast, I get the Dixie Scramble, so good!!
If you are within an hour, it is worth the drive! Be sure to tip well...👍🙂
Have a great day!!

Can't say enough good things about this restaurant. We brought our dog Meli with us and they opened their outdoor seating area for us. They immediately brought out a water bowl for her and a treat for her. Penny, our waitress was so kind. The food was delicious too. My husband is a vegetarian and there were all these country sides to choose from. I have to admit I kept eating off his plate cause they were so good. Thank u Penny and the staff at Dixie for such a nice visit!

Each time I've found myself going through Petersburg, I've just have to stop here. This has always been my go to place for breakfast, and I've been here countless times through the years. The food has always been delicious, and I'm sure it probably still is. Unfortunately the service is not what it used to be. On my last visit I never got to eat breakfast because no one came to take my order. I have seen the restaurant be much busier than it was this time, and there were only 2 other tables in the back area occupied. Once I was seated, I was given my drink, but that was all I got. The server in that section seemed to be busy talking to one customer in particular. After 10 minutes or so she did walk by my table but never stopped. I decided the best thing to do was just leave. I was really sad about this because I have always looked forward to eating here. The food has always been great, and the servers very friendly, and even when the place has been full, they always seemed to make their customers feel special. I am not sure if I will go back. I'm sure the food will be just as good as it has always been, but to me customer service is just as important.
Very friendly
Very clean
Visited the Dixie Restaurant for the first time this morning. I enjoyed the quaint southern atmosphere and hospitality by the staff. The food was good. I especially recommend the fluffy buttery biscuits. Room for improvement: I recommend improving the drinks, specifically the hot tea and hot chocolate is on the menu but wasn’t available for purchase today. Also, I recommend using pure maple syrup instead of pancake syrup and fresh whipped butter instead of packaged butter.

The restaurant came recommended. My family and I was looking for a breakfast spot while visiting and staying at the Hotel Petersburg. When we walked in it reminded me of a place from the 1960’s. (If you know what i mean) I was slightly hesitant being a New Yorker and all. To my surprise we were greeted with a warm staff and great food. The waitresses were awesome. Ya can’t judge a book by its cover. I would certainly go back.

Perfect place to enjoy breakfast, walking distance from the Hilton Tapestry. Plenty of seating with diner design. Food came out fast and service is friendly
This quaint diner had a very “southern” menu with many local dishes. The staff was friendly and the food arrived quickly. My veggie omelet was okay, not what I was used to. It had lots of frozen spinach and canned peppers, rather than fresh.
If you love country cooking and the old southern diner kind of feel you'll love this place! Food just like grandma used to make! Definitely recommend taking a nap after you eat, you're gonna need it!

The best diner in Petersburg! Good old fashioned food served with a smile. The breakfast is awesome. Lunch is just as good. Located in historic downtown Petersburg, it is conveniently located on a corner with a stop light. Has outside dining, inside tables/booths, and also a counter you can sit at. Great restaurant.
Parking: On street parking available. Very large free municipal parking lot right across the street.
Kid-friendliness: Children are welcome! They have a kids menu.
Wheelchair accessibility: Entire restaurant is wheelchair accessible.

What a gem in the heart of old town!!Definitely one of the best places I’ve been to for breakfast or lunch. The building is from the 1800s and is full of history. You feel transported from modern life to a simpler time where friends and families gather to chew the fat together. Everyone from the staff to the customers were smiling and laughing with each other. I had a cup of coffee and the biscuits and gravy today. The biscuits were light and fluffy and the sausage gravy was delicious. The portion was huge! The new owners were there and very welcoming and they haven’t missed a beat, the food and atmosphere is amazing!
