Stopped while traveling, called ahead for pick up, ordered shrimp basket with fries, bought sweet potatoe and lemon cake slices which were delicious, staff was nice, location was clean and ready for dine in customers, not great parking (could be more parking that we didn't see due to stopping by while traveling). A lot of people come here, the door was constantly opening!

September 2025- We discovered this jewel while traveling just off on I-95 in Petersburg, VA. We were looking for a place that served Soulfood. This is place over delivered. The staff are pleasant and welcoming. Reminds us of grannie’s Sunday dinner. Most places we try that claim “Soulfood” vary from pretty good to just plain bad. Y’all need to stop in Petersburg, Va...

OMG when I walked in I was greeted with a smile... The restaurant is quaint and clean. For lunch I ordered the fried whiting with green beans and yams and cornbread.. it was seasoned to perfection. It was hot. Delicious delectable! Amazing! Stop by and have lunch.
