Located in downtown Petersburg parking was difficult at peak time. After walking a bit a small meal was desired. We liked the look of the place and went in . Promptly greeted and sat at bar. Server Tiny was very informative and polite conversation. 6 wing meal took a bit but was good, coleslaw on the slimy side but edible. Mixed drink was awesome! Very good selection on menu. Down side our server would disappear for lengthy times and bar stolls very "wobbly". Probably select booth or table.Parking: I imagine this it a good later dining establishment.

Norman is great! We hadn't been by in years (since before the move to the new building). We would always ask for Trey and knew we would be taken care of. The food was great with large portions, atmosphere chill and spacious, and great service. Norman matched my grandfather's energy and he had a great time. We will definitely be returning and asking for Norman!

First time trying this restaurant as I’ve heard plenty good things about them. Be prepared to wait as this is a popular restaurant. It’s a beautiful place that offers upstairs and downstairs dining. The servers were pleasant and the food was the cherry on top.

My family and I (3 people) visited the Croaker Spot in Petersburg 04/21/2024 and it was absolutely the worst customer service that I’ve ever experienced in years. We waited at our table for one hour and 10 minutes with no food. So, we asked the waitress and she apologized and said it’s coming now. Finally, 15 minutes later we asked for the check without receiving any food. Unfortunately, several other customers were experiencing the same slow service and lack of professionalism by the staff. The manager had to cash us out because it was a $179.00 ticket and she was determined that we pay for the $16 ticket for our drinks. Keep in mind most professional managers would have apologized for the service and is there anything that she can do. The manager didn’t say a word. Bottom line, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant based on the poor customer service, lack of professionalism, and rudeness of the staff. I gave the food a one star because we never got to try it. A one star for the entire customer experience. To the owner, careful who you let run your business because at the end of the day it’s your reputation on the line.

Needed to get food on the way to a funeral from MD to NC and they were efficient and kind. We all enjoyed our visit very much. Our server Jeannie(hope I spelled that right) was very patient and gave good suggestions for food.

During our recent visit to Fort Gregg-Adam, a familiar spot from my time as a Young Marine, my family and I decided to explore the area for a soul food restaurant and stumbled upon Croakers. This restaurant is conveniently located in an older part of downtown.Upon entering Croakers, we were not greeted right away, but the staff informed us of the wait time, which we were okay with. The restaurant had a charming decor, spacious layout, and appeared to be well-maintained and popular. Once we were seated, we noticed that our waitress could benefit from some additional training to be more attentive to the customers. The highlight of our experience was the delicious food! Although the chicken wings could use more seasoning, the cornbread, in particular, was delightful with its sweet flavor. Cabbage and the mashed potato were very tasty, also. Our son, stated the garlic bread to be overly salty, but his shrimp fettuccine was delicious, and my husband, who is a huge seafood lover, suggested the portion size of the catfish could be a bit more generous, a larger catfish would be quite enjoyable! However, the food was served hot and satisfying.Overall, our visit to Croakers was pleasant, and we would consider returning. It would be great if the wait staff received further training in hospitality and customer engagement to enhance the overall experience for guests.

I would give the food 5/5, but I didn't care for the Mac and Cheese very much. The cabbage was so good and flavorful. Also the Fish, Crab Medallions, and Shrimp were all fried to perfection. I also loved the Cornbread, so glad they give you two pieces.

There are too many stars to represent the poor quality of service we received. We a party of eight were taken upstairs and we finally got drinks about 40 minutes after being seated served by the cashier and hostess. They were not drinkable because something ran out. so we all changed to sweet tea and lemonade. The first tea wasn't sweet. They fixed it . Two hours later we finally got a plate of the cornbread and one of Chicken wings appetizers that was excellent. The plates of catfish came out and were okay. The shrimp and grits came out and were black and covered with something that looked like swamp weed. I sent it back. The greens were so bitter and raw they were not eatable. I think the cook must have quit that night, but I would have fired him. However it is not a place that I'll return to anytime soon. We gracefully paid our $300+ bill and tipped the severs well before leaving.

Service sucks. Was told 30min wait for a party of 12, ended up waiting a hour. Then go in and ask if the tables was ready and item said another 30min after waiting a hour. Everybody came in after us was seated. Poor service.

Croaker spot is the spot!!! we had the fried catfish, candy yams, cabbage, macaroni and cheese, greens, mashed potatoes, cornbread. I can say the service was much better on this visit because we got there immediately when they opened. That’s what you need to try and do is get there immediately when they open. Because I believe they lack help so if you wait later to go, it might take you a long time to get your food.

This restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere with a cool vibe. The food is on point. If you're looking for a place to have a drink ? and eat some delicious soul food. This is the place. The waitresses are very pleasant yet be prepared to wait a bit for your delicious hot meal. The chicken wing dings hit the spot, but I gotta tell yaw it's that "big piece of moist cornbread" that brings it all home. Try the boiled seasoned cabbage and the collard green. They'll make you say "uh nah nah nah nah."If you really need to chill, try the Margarita and Mimosa flights. You pick your own flavor. The restrooms were clean.. yay! Cool place for you and your boo or the whole family, but whatever you do, make sure to stop in and grab a bite to eat. be glad you did.Parking: There's plenty of parking spaces on the street as well as the free parking lot directly across the street from Croakers.
