We were visiting from PA, when a local friend suggested Croaker's. We came around 9:15 pm on Good Friday, not expecting to be able to be seated. We were seated within 5 minutes. It was busy with several celebrating guests. We were seated on the upper level with a great view of the ceiling work and guests below. Carey was our server. So personable and proficient. I was very intrigued with history of this restaurant and looking forward to a good soul food experience. Loved our waitress Tinny. The building was impressive. However we waited for our food for over an hour from the time when we ordered and the time when our dishes were put on the table. Great food, historic location, wonderful atmosphere; but a little (sometimes a lot) overpriced for what you get. The wait times are usually par for the course, but expect about a 45 minute wait to be seated, and another 45 minutes to receive your food on the weekend. Plan ahead and make a reservation, if possible. It's worth it: the first visit, at least.
