I’ve been ordering from little philly’s around twice a week, food has always been good. As of recently, due to theft a lot of restaurants have to check your phone to confirm you’re the right person before getting the food - completely understandable, if I was a business owner I would not want to be losing money. The thing is, the business owner and the rest of the staff are actually great and the business runs smooth. They care about the food, which is great.As I was just picking up my order this Sunday, the lady at the cashier asked to see my phone, I went and retrieved my phone from my car to prove I was the one ordering the food (even though I’m a regular here and have ordered countless times) the lady seemed to be extra rude while asking for my phone order confirmation, pretty demanding and pretty entitled sounding, so I asked her if she recognized me and if she knew that I bought food here about two or three times a week every week.. not only do I not care to steal a $10 sandwich which I can obviously afford since I choose to eat at Little Phillies multiple times a week. But She told me she didn’t recognize me, everyone has different memory and brain capabilities, but considering I always come in at off-times during the day, and I literally order about twice a week. She told me she only works on sundays, apparently I picked the wrong day to order my food!She told me that they need to see the DoorDash app before giving me my food. I then went to go get my phone from my car. I also used to work DoorDash, which I made a point to the lady about saying that I wouldn’t steal and that also I eat here multiple times a week, and that I also understand how DoorDash works - she decided to be smart and tell me “I’m glad you know how DoorDash works” as I was walking out of the restaurant after having to explain to her that I eat there all the time and that I don’t care to steal a $10 sandwich. I was super surprised because I love the food here and have never had an issue with any of the staff or anything, I said “excuse me?” And then she smiles and repeats herself , doubling down “I’m glad you know how DoorDash works” with a huge smile on her face. I actually was taken back, considering how good this place has been and how nice the staff always are, but whoever that older lady is working the cashier on sundays, she needs to be retrained and taught how to be a cashier and how to talk to customers properly!A customer who is simply questioning why they have to run back to their car and get their phone at a restaurant that they order from regularly, is just a customer asking a pretty normal question. I love the food at this place, and so do my friends, but unfortunately I’ll have to find another restaurant around here that can make a good cheesesteak! If you want food from here, don’t question the Cashier that works on Sundays, if you do, don’t be surprised because I told you so!

I've been here a handful of times. Food is always great. They're not stingy either. You get more than what you pay for, and the prices are already reasonable. Great service, and I like the vibe with the 60's product and music decor.

Philly's are very good. That being said I have been ordering here at least twice a month for the past 3 years and can count on one hand the number of times my order has been correct. Today I ordered 3 sandwiches and two large fries and only received two side fries and was told upon calling back that it was two large fries. They didn't offer to correct the problem so I won't be ordering here anymore. When I order here multiple times a month I know what the large has been the whole time. If I could attach a picture I would. But I order two large fries and received less than one large. I'm done. I will drive the extra 10 min for better service.
That tip about St. George's beer is old, that was 2 owners ago. There is no beer here.

If you love really tasty food this is a great pkace for a mouth watering double hamburger and fries...the best I have had around here. Great Greek food and of course Philly Cheese Steaks. So, there is something for everyone and it all tastes so good you will drive yourself crazy trying to figure out what to eat each time you go there!

Was tired of waiting an hour and or being over charged for a Philly cheese steak/ chicken cheese steak at three other good shops in Newport News. If your an individual who really loves a good cheese steak these were my go to shops until now (P.S., icks and oss) fill in the blanks. I had a Philly cheese steak which really did remind me of Philadelphia's originals. My lady let me taste her Philly chicken cheese steak which was lightly seasoned... Also taste great. Wait time was only 12 minutes. The only additional option I would have liked is fries topped with cheez wiz. This my new go to spot. If you live in within 30 minutes it's worth the drive.

I came here for some appetizers and it did not disappoint.I got the bacon cheese fries, and wow!I was expecting bacon bits but it was fresh crispy bacon.I also got fried mushrooms because you can’t find them anywhere, they were delicious!As a small business sandwich shop, I highly recommend coming out of your way for this place!
My philly steak sub was Delicious!! It was humongous and even came with a side of Italian dressing. The place was nice and clean and the cashier was very pleasant! Definitely eating here again, and again!

I re-visit Lil Philly after several ownership changes. The new owners have turned the place around. Food is delicious. Serving size is good. Service is always with a smile. We have cheeseburgers and gyros. Both were served fresh and hot. Toppings crisp. Fries were also very good. Look forward to visiting again!
Actually... a very good cheesesteak. Not the best in this area, but definitely above average! Plenty of steak and good bread. Bread is important! I liked the fries, too.

Their fries are the bomb, crisp, not soggy and flavorful! I had the foot long shrimp with cheese and mushrooms, addicting!!! A must try!!!!
