M Rae's is one of our favorite takeout locations in the Portsmouth/ Chesapeake area of Hampton Roads. This Black Owned small business has really good wings, amazing seafood, & great desserts as well. We really enjoyed the "Gold Dust", "Bang Bang", & Rae's Wing. Thier Mac & Cheese is really really good as well. For dessert, I recommend "the Animal Cracker Cheesecake". It was delicious. I loveee this place. Everyone is so sweet and nurturing, I felt at home as soon as I walked in! Food was 10/10. I got the maple bacon wings with seasoned waffle fries & my mom got the fish dinner w/Mac and cheese and string beans. Mama Rae let us sample her collards and I nearly cried because they reminded us of my grandmother’s. She is the sweetest and humblest woman ever !! Highly recommended.
