Mom & Son Thai Kitchen

This place never misses when it comes to the food or service. We tend to order pickup but the few times we've dined in service was amazing. We had family from out of town with us our first time eating in and our server (presumably the owner) took it as far as to help my grandmother learn how to use chopsticks and she was so friendly and attentive of us! Food is always fresh and delicious and I have never had an issue with special instructions being followed on our online orders either. Price is great when you consider the quality and portion size, usually around $15 a person but the fried rice for example is enough for two meals. My husband gets the chicken delight almost every time and it’s a great alternative for people who don't like noodles or rice. Food is ready relatively fast and always hot and fresh so it’s well worth waiting a few minutes.
My only complaint if you can even call it that is the spice level can be pretty inconsistent, if you don't like spicy I would recommend against getting your food even mild because sometimes it can be extremely hot and other times it will have almost no spice at all.

I have no idea how their rating is not 5 stars, because it should be! I don't think you could have a bad meal or experience here! If you are in the area, and like thai food, this is the place to be!!! You will not be disappointed.

I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and a side of fried rice—both were absolutely delicious! I’m super picky about Pad Thai, especially after living in Houston for three years where my boyfriend and I had a go-to spot we loved. Since moving to Dallas, I’ve struggled to find Thai food that hits the mark—until now. Too bad I don't live here. LOL.

While in Portsmouth for work, I decided to give Mom & Son Thai Kitchen a try, and I’m so glad I did. The Pad Thai had thin noodles (just how I like them!) and I got it at a medium spice level. I don’t usually go for spicy food, but it had the perfect kick without being overwhelming. If you're sensitive to spice, I'd recommend going with mild.

The fried rice was tasty, though I do wish it had some egg and more veggies beyond just onions. That said, it was still flavorful.

Overall, I highly recommend this spot—great food, generous portions, and a lovely surprise while traveling!

Mom and Son Thai Kitchen is the best Thai restaurant that I’ve tried. My family loves it as do all the family and friends that I’ve recommended it to. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is amazing. I’ve always liked Thai food, but I LOVE the Thai food from Mom and Son Thai Kitchen. It is very fresh and full of flavor. Everything I’ve had tastes like it was made from scratch with love. My favorite dishes are the Thai fried rice, basil stir fry, Pad Kee Mao, and the Thai Noodle Soup. If you’ve never tried this place, go try it ASAP!

This is the best Thai restaurant in the Hampton Roads area. This is one of the most authentic Thai restaurants that I've ever been to. I have traveled to Thailand multiple times and this food is as good as the Thai street food that you can find in Bangkok.

I have had multiple items off of their menu. I highly recommend the drunken noodles and tum yum soup. The Tai Olympia is also amazing. This is a great place. You will not be disappointed.

This is the best food in Portsmouth hands down. Ive been here 5 or 6 times, ordered a good variety of items for my wife and I, and every time our food tasted consitently delicious and fresh. The people here are so nice and professional as well. Good thai food is hard to find and this may be the best thai food in probably a 50-100 mile radius.

Just moved to the area and just found my Thai place! It was highly recommend so it thought I'd give it a try. I'm very picky about crab rangoons and their were definitely the best I've ever had. Chicken pad Thai was also delicious I think I'll try medium spice nice time as little spice was too mild for me. Very fresh and flavorful

This spot is the best! Hands down! We orders the Tom Yum, Crab Fried Rice Mango and Sweet Rice. Everything was absolutely delicious.
