COOKOUT - Radford, VA The interior of this place closes down around 9pm. So there are a drive through lanes until 3AM, or as late as 4am on weekend nights. There are 2 drive through lanes, the lane on the right always seems to have a shorter line.
The pulled pork sandwich was moist and juicy. The Texas Pete hot sauce is a good touch. Where else are you gonna find a drive through fast food sandwich like that at one of the big Goliath fast food chains?
The beef quesadilla seemed unseasoned and was underwhelming. The hush puppies tasted like they were fried too long in old frier oil.
This place does not accept American Express cards. So, I paid with a Citibank Custom Cash Mastercard that pays 5% cash back on restaurant purchases.
This place was probably the best food I’m gonna find at this hour of the night (1:15AM). I would definitely consider coming back.

I ordered a BBQ plate and I thought I was getting a BBQ sandwich maybe I looked the menu wrong no big deal I had buns but it was not good at all

I have been to cookout many many times but I have NEVER may I say that again NEVER had the correct order I am always missing something or got the incorrect item or ingredients put on that I asked not to be so please check your food before you leave the drive thru can confirm Gordon Ramsey would have a stroke if he went there
I have only been to this location twice. Both tines it was not busy, one car in front of me first time, and this time only two. Both times, I went through the lane closest to the building. Both times it was the same girl taking my order. She doesn't seem to listen very well, she rushes you through your order taking process and then when you get to the window she looks at you the entire time like she's annoyed to be there and to be serving you. The first time she didn't even put ice in my tea and she was very rude. No thank you or have a good day, just "here"...with a stern tone, while handing you stuff in your order. Second time, she didn't give me a bag, just hands me the container the food is put in, and I had to ask for the BBQ sauce and then she hands me my tea and I realized when I got home that she didn't even give me a straw either. And this time...same thing while handing me my food...takes forever to acknowledge me, but then wants to rush me to take stuff from her, saying "here," all annoyed like. I tried being nice and saying thank you and such like I always do when I go anywhere, because that is how I was raised, to maybe get something else out of her, but nope. Just looks so unpleased to be there. She's heavier set and wears glasses. Both times I came it was during the day. I don't think she's the right person to have kn drive thru or dealing with customers face to face. The other people seem nice from what I over hear in the background. Put one of them on instead.
It had been years since I was last at Cook Out, but I wanted some ice cream and their Heath Toffee shake fit the bill. It's very thick, not so much like a shake, but more like a concrete or blizzard. I had to eat it with a spoon. It was full of small pieces of Heath candy bar and was delicious. The only negative was that they did not give me any napkins in the drive-thru.
