Ordered online these fries were so Burnt and obviously cooked in oils that wasn’t changed recently. Asked for extra ranch when my boyfriend called in the order and didn’t receive any. I ate most of them only because the order was 16$ and this was supposed to be dinner

Lunch with wife today after running some errands. Sandwiches were fine but sadly the building is showing real signs of neglect! I had to show the manager on duty rotten and loose boards on steps going down to the parking lot. Many other outside wood trim elements are significantly degraded and in several cases have come loose. Inside the floor in the bar was filthy and terribly worn. Other similar observations elsewhere. Whereas in years past this restaurant showed its owner’s pride in what his father had started many years ago, it no longer seems to have the same pride in ownership. Oh I forgot to mention how a refill of mere water tasted like it had some out of a puddle! Both my wife and I were grossed out by how bad it was. Sad to see what it has become.

We arrived shortly after 1pm on Sunday the 28th of September with 7 in our party and were seated at approximately 1:10. We were promptly told that we wouldn’t get food for about an hour. We decided to stay anyway because we all have patronized Macados for a long time. We waited for about 25-30 minutes and still no server! No one had even taken a drink order. We watched a total of 6-8 additional people come in they were waited on, got their drinks and then their food and still no one had paid any attention to the fact that we had not been waited on yet. One of the waitresses came by finally and said she would return shortly. 15 minutes later, still nothing. I went to the front counter and lodged a complaint with one of the employees, he said he was sorry and would get someone to come right over, and also would get us a discount for having to wait. Still nothing! 15 minutes later, we all left! This is totally unacceptable to me and anyone else that it would happen to. We have made our last trip to Macado’s. I’ve got some other thoughts about why this happened but I won’t share them here. I don’t know if it’s a employee issue or it lies with the management, but there is a real problem here. This isn’t the first time that the service has been poor, but it has never been as bad as it was today.

Came in here after a long morning full of appointments. The hostess greeted us kindly and asked us where'd we like to sit and choosing the bar before noon she might of thought we were rowdy but far from, just hungry. We got seated, the waitress took our drink orders and fair warned us that catering was being completed so there might be a bit of a wait. We ordered our lunch specials nonetheless and the wait was not much of one at all. If they hadn't of warned me I wouldn't of noticed but it was so considerate that I got a heads up! I mentioned we would be splitting our orders to share in the foodie greatness and the server ensured a fork for each to enjoy our macaroni salad. Our total with 2 lunch specials and 2 Michelobs equalled $31.06. I'll pay $40 any day for food and drinks made to order exactly how we ask. Thank you so much for being a place for people to go to take a load off! Stay awesome Macado's Radford Crew!

Food took a hour and a half for a club and hamburger with fries and there was no air conditioner and it was 79 degrees inside. They also ran out of tea at 7:00 pm on a Sunday night and everything was gross, dirty and sticky. They were not busy at all mostly empty

First know this my wife wanted food at a different restaurant I told her to wait 15 minutes more than we needed to just because we knew it would be slow. I waited an appropriate amount of time and I showed up on a Tuesday not busy at all they took another 20 minutes to cook my burger then tell me they cooked my wings in the wrong sauce and it'll be 2 minutes which is a lie it took another 10-15 minutes no offer to make it right horrible service not ordering here spending money here ever again telling everyone I know the same thing everyone told me not to eat at this macado's

Worst ever. We came in patient because we had 8 people expecting an hour for our food to come out but no took that to get appetizers and sweet teas.30 minutes later came back with the wrong food and still didn’t have 2 of our appetizers. Never again.

The waiter was very lackadaisical. He never came back and refilled our drinks. It took a while for him to take our order and when he did, it took over an hour for us to get our food. The food was well prepared and was good. We ate on the patio. The door handles going in and out of the patio looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. They had stuff crusted on them. The front door handle was also dirty as well as the door itself. A member of our party went in the women’s bathroom and came out, saying it was disgusting. Overall, the service was poor and the place needed a good cleaning. I have eaten there many times over the past years. I don’t know what has happened, but this is the first time that I would have given a bad review. It’s been several years since I ate there, but it seems to have gone downhill.

Macado’s in Radford - Something Seriously Needs to Change
I’ve waited a few days to post this because I didn’t want to come off as overreacting, but after thinking it through, I feel like people need to know what’s really going on at Macado’s. This wasn’t our first bad experience there, but it will definitely be the last.
My fiancé and I, along with a couple other people went to Macados for dinner before the river turtles game. We got seated like normal, and at first, everything seemed fine. The waiter came over wearing gym shorts and a regular t-shirt, which felt a little off for a restaurant, but whatever. He brought our drinks, got one wrong, but we brushed it off.
Then he brought out our appetizer with the silverware and plates, and that’s when things went downhill fast. Every single fork looked dirty, and one of them literally had dried chunks of food stuck to it. I mean actual leftover food! Two of the plates also had dried sauce and food still on them. It was disgusting. I couldn’t even stomach my food after seeing that.
We called the waiter back to let him know, and he just stood there. He didn’t say a word. Not “sorry,” not “I’ll take care of it,” nothing. Just took the plates and silverware and walked off. No apology. No reaction. Nothing.
That honestly blew my mind. It’s one thing to make a mistake, but to not even acknowledge it? To not say a single word when someone points out that you gave them dirty silverware with old food on it? That’s not just bad service, that’s straight-up disrespectful.
And to make it worse, he didn’t even bring us clean replacements. We had to call him back just to ask for new plates and forks. It also felt like it was 80 degrees in there, which just made everything more uncomfortable.
We should’ve asked for a manager. I wish I had taken pictures. But in the moment, we were just too grossed out and shocked. Every time we’ve gone to Macado’s, it’s been something — but this time was the last straw.
We won’t be going back. And I really hope someone in charge sees this, because people deserve better than this when they go out to eat. Clean dishes and basic human decency shouldn’t be too much to ask.

As a group we gather at Macado's in Radford once a month. I really like the group I go with but the restaurant is so filthy. There is a layer of grease on all surfaces. We usually sit on the patio which is a nice environment but filthy. Trash, dead bugs, very dirty tables and sticky chairs. The bathrooms are on par with port o johns. Filthy and stinky. The service is great sometimes, sometimes not. Once I had to wait over an hour and fifteen minutes to get my bill. The food is a whole other let down. I realize it is not a fine dining restaurant, but it really needs to be cleaned up. I went tonight to meet with my group and I was so disgusted, I left before the others arrived.
