All I will ever be able to think of when the Coffee House is mentioned, is how disrespectfully, repulsive that pulled pork sandwich was. There is no way it was pulled pork. If I had to compare it to something, not to be childish, but literally, Spongebob comes to mind….yes, Planktons Chum. Obviously i dont know what Chum tastes like. But if i had to guess, lets just say that I was served a “pulled chum” sandwich…couldn’t have been pork. So bad, that I wanted to take it back and tell them i need a refund or threaten to sue. Pribably wouldnt have gotten anywhere with it, dont care for the money…all of it, ultimately is to express how foul rhat sandwich was. It felt like cartilage, fish eyes maybe, and just a # of other things, not to be consumed by humans. Luckily all i did is kind of bite down a little bit…luckily i didnt bite and start chewing. Let alone swallow . It would have been soo much worse. And i would have done a whole lot more then a little review.Anyway, all n all, Coffee House will never get my $9

Small but cozy cafe, wine bar and food on the 2nd floor with live jazz music, which is different from the 1st floor. It's been a while since I found a place with live music. I was just going to have a cup of coffee, but I like jazz music, so I had another glass of wine! I'll have to come for dinner next time.

Awesome atmosphere and location, poor service, and terrible sandwiches. I'll come again for drinks, but I don't suggest dining in.

A lovely family owned coffee shop. Reasonable prices, good quality, and a cozy atmosphere with a mini bar, lounge, and fireplace area on the second floor.

Very rude staff and unfriendly environment. Clearly only services one demographic of people. Will not be returning. The energy was so off

Extremely rude and racist barista by the name of Harmon. I actually wrote a similar review a couple months back but deleted it out of support for small business butttttt enough is enough. I used to be a regular here till about a few months ago when I had enough of Harmon's extremely negative unwelcoming energy. Today, I was hesistant to give it another go, and I was right. Harmon comes up to me full of hostility saying "you come here all the time, sit here for 8 hours, only get a coffee". First off, I rarely sit for more than 2-3 hours at a time, and i frequently order food as well. This was my first time coming after months of not coming. Multiple people sit long periods of their entire work shift and it's never been a problem for them, and they'll only get coffee. I didn't know it was some rule that you can't order only a coffee when you come into a coffe shop! His entire tone was full of disgust, hate and felt very racially motivated. He was talking to me like he was doing me a favor by allowing me to sit here. "I let you sit there and dont' say anything" Excuse me, you let me sit there?!?! Then he proceeds to insult my intelligence by telling me "why don't you understand how businesses work?" With the most aggressive tones. He told me to "go to the community center' if I had an issue. ???? Then he proceeded to berate me about charging my laptop from the table because it was a couple feet from the wall, like I was some child. It was the worst customer service and treatment I've ever experienced at a place. Beyond gross. He kept going off about all these problems he has had with my presence there over the last several months. I wish I could show you a video of the "hand gestures" he was making to me. He repeatedly kept tapping his head to say "are you stupid". So condescending. The other servers are pleasant besides him. His energy felt very intentional especially when in comparison to every other customer interaction I've seen of him over several months. It's very clear he only likes to service one kind of people. And after reading through multiple reviews below, every single terrible service experience has been from people of colour. No shocker. In fact, a couple other customers in the room, after Harmon left, heard the way he was talking to me, came up to me and commented on how inexcusable and appalling his behaviour was. He has always honestly been very rude every single time I ordered coffee, while every single time I saw him interact with other "white customers" he was very smiley and friendly, making lots of small talk. With me, it was always very stale face and no talk. He always gave this energy of having to deal with someone beneath him while he always welcomed every other customer with a different energy. It was so obvious. I thought about stopping going there for a while but would come, hoping he wouldn't be there till I realised he works everyday. Being the only person of color that visited frequently, it's not very hard to discern the reasons for the differences in engagement. This was all I needed to know to never come back again and let everyone I know about this racist establishment. It's never felt warm or welcoming regardless so it's not a loss. So many other friendly and welcoming places to visit nearby. I told the owner about this and she completely dismissed my concerns. Save your money and go check out Chateau de Chantilly. Caters to a super diverse crowd, baristas are super friendly and welcoming, and the ambience is super homey. Tons of space and the crowd is pretty busy on any given day/time. The pastries are incredible and the drinks are 10x better.
