Every customer who approaches the counter should be treated with the same respect. I came in today and stood in front of the register for a few moments without being acknowledged, so I stepped aside. A few minutes later, another customer walked in and was immediately greeted and assisted. It wasn’t until I stopped a young lady delivering a shake that I received my order, which had been sitting on the shelf the entire time.
Please do better. I’m not sure why I wasn’t greeted the same way, but I remained professional and decided to share my experience here. No one should lose their job over this, but it should be used as a teaching moment.

HAIR IN FOOD. I got pickup from shake shack in Reston at 1pm on Monday October 13. I had to wait on my food for over 15 minutes despite placing the order around 12pm. Regardless of that there was HAIR in my burger deep within and I didn’t even notice until I had eaten half of it. Customer support refunded the order but I have lost faith in the business and am worried I will be sick. Be careful eating here.

I stopped by Shake Shack and tried the ‘Shroom Burger and wow, it did not disappoint! Definitely won’t be getting anything else after trying that sandwich! The crispy-fried portobello mushroom was stuffed with gooey, melted cheese that oozed out with every bite. Paired with the soft potato bun, fresh lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce, it was rich, savory, and absolutely delicious.
Even though I’m not a vegetarian, this is hands down one of the best veggie burgers I’ve ever had, hearty, satisfying, and full of flavor. The staff was friendly, service was quick, and the whole experience felt easy and enjoyable. Definitely worth coming back for, and I’d recommend the mushroom burger to anyone looking for a tasty alternative to meat.

I ordered a regular burger. They gave me a cheeseburger - I hate cheese on burgers - and all the sauce was on one side. Half the burger was completely dry. I choked it down rather than walk all the way back from the park to get it made correctly. It was ready in a few minutes and the manager was friendly, though. I have no idea why people supposedly love this mediocre chain. The price is decent but the burger even when made correctly is bland. If you can't get a simple burger correct, why would I buy anything more complicated from your menu?

Every time I come here the tables are dirty there is trash on the floors that the staff just walks by barely making eye contact. On top of that it takes 15 minutes just to get a chicken sandwich. This spot is the epitome of the customer service issues that are rampant in food service in 2025. If they hate working so much then just bring in the robots and program them to be kind/clean.

Poor and unfriendly service. The fries were cold and there was a hair in the fries and the hamburger order was botched. Obviously the team was not trained well or ready for opening.
I brought to Corporates attention and it completely deflected and asked me to write ✍️ a book on my experience.
Not sure which was worst the Shake Shake visit or my experience with Corporate which was even worst.
Its a shame I was a big fan and now will never go back again.

This location is far below the shake shack standard. The front doors have been broken for weeks. The tap water is warm, compared to other locations which water nicely chilled. The burgers are well done which is quite disappointing as you lose all the flavor. They are made medium rare else with the option to order it well done. At least the custard here is good. I spoke to employee who the burgers are currently cooked medium rare but that is obviously false. The burgers also lack salt and pepper which really put a damper on the entire scenario. Also, when you order online they just put your order on the shelf compared to other locations which call out your name.

This is hands-down the best burger chain in the country. Fries are their usual crinkle-cut selves, but dunk them in the cheese cup and suddenly they’re addicting.
But here’s where Reston steps up: onion rings and exclusive boba drinks. Yes, onion rings! Golden, crunchy, and exactly what you want alongside that burger. And the boba? Creamy, chewy, refreshing — a combo you’d never expect at Shake Shack but somehow works perfectly. These extras make this location feel like a foodie insider’s secret.
Ignore the nitpicky 1-star reviews about things like a broken door. That has nothing to do with the food, the service, or the overall experience. What actually matters is what’s on your tray — and here, it’s one knockout after another.
