I went with my family, the ambience was okay, it was late so I couldn't do justice in describing it. The place was small and cosy. Their food tasted authentic and they made sure it well prepared. We ordered mix platter and doner pide. Both of them were delicious and we enjoyed it. The salgam drink was especially good. I'd recommend going there.

The food was delicious, but waiting 25 minutes was unacceptable. It made the whole experience frustrating. No matter how good the food is, service like this leaves a bad impression.

Taste of Istanbul – Turkish Breakfast Experience

I’ve had Turkish food before, but this was my first true Turkish breakfast experience — and it completely exceeded expectations.

I went in thinking we were ordering a few dishes… and quickly realized this is not a “meal,” it’s a full spread. The table filled up fast with a variety of small plates, and what stood out immediately was how interactive everything was. This isn’t food you just eat — it’s food you build.

The menemen (eggs with tomato and peppers) came out hot in a skillet and was excellent on its own, but I took it a step further and added cheese directly into the pan, letting it melt into everything. That turned it into something next level — rich, balanced, and perfect with fresh bread.

The pastırma (cured beef) had a deep, bold flavor and paired really well with the cheeses. Speaking of cheese, there was a great variety — from softer, creamy options to firmer, more aged selections. One of the best combinations I found was taking the more robust cheese and pairing it with the marmalade. Sweet and salty done right.

The spreads were where things got interesting. The red pepper paste (biber salçası) had a rich, almost smoky depth that worked great with bread and cheese. The tahini (which I initially thought was something else) had a nutty, peanut-butter-like profile — and looking back, I should’ve mixed it with honey because that would have been a perfect combo.

The honey and kaymak was easily one of the highlights. At first glance it looked simple, but the texture and flavor were incredible — smooth, rich, and almost butter-like with the sweetness of the honey. Definitely not something to skip.

I’ll be honest — I’ve never been an olive fan. But the green olives here completely changed that for me. Much cleaner flavor, less bitterness than what I’ve had before. I ended up eating several, which says a lot.

The fresh tomatoes and cucumbers were simple but necessary — they balanced out the richness of everything else on the table.

One of the most unique parts of the experience was the şalgam (fermented purple carrot and turnip juice). It’s salty, slightly tangy, and definitely different. Not for everyone, but worth trying if you want the full experience.

I also ordered baba ghanoush, which had a great smoky flavor and paired well even with some of the egg dishes.

To finish, I had Turkish coffee with a piece of Turkish delight — strong, bold, and a perfect way to close out the meal.

On top of the food, the hostess was extremely helpful and welcoming, which made the experience even better. She took the time to explain items and made sure everything was right.

Overall, this wasn’t just breakfast — it was an experience. The variety, the ability to mix and match flavors, and the quality across the board made this one stand out. I’ll definitely be back.

Everything about this place was terrible. We love Turkish cuisine and decided to give it a shot but it was our first and last time here.

First, the service is too slow. They barely check in on tables and in the end they charge at least 18% for tips. We had to wait 25-30 mins for the appetizers and drinks to arrive. Another table with a toddler were also waiting for their food for a while despite the fact they got there and ordered food before us.

Second, most of the food is not tasty at all. Lentil soup was decent, mixed pide was ok but doesn’t justify its price. Doner shawerma was too small and mostly stuffed with lettuce with some soggy slices of meat. As for the dessert, we ordered kunefe but had to ask to take it back after trying it - yes, it was this bad.

Spend your money in some other cafe/restaurant in RTC, pretty sure all of them are much better than this place.

So disappointing, after living in Izmir Turkiye for seven years, we were hoping for a taste of our favorite cuisine. The order was for lunch, Turkish Doner Kebab seasonal salad, rice, sauce and pita. I asked for no fries and the waitress said would you like more salad, and I said yes. The meal came with fries, and the seasonal salad was sliced raw onions with parsley and no dressing. Not a salad in Turkish terms. The sauce was typical dill and yogurt. The meat was dry, over cooked and really bad. The sauce didn't help. We will not be returning which is sad.
