The ambiance was amazing and service was lovely. The cocktails were delicious! We got the raw tuna appetizer which was delicious. I was a bit disappointed in my main entree- the fried flounder was very dry and overly salty. It was served over a bed of rice and eggplant/shishitos. For the cost of the entrees this was disappointing. It was an otherwise lovely experience and the service was great!
came to alewife for my anniversary dinner. my partner and I are always wary of trying new places because our standards are quite high but we were incredibly impressed and delighted by the dinner we had! we dont normally enjoy virginia oysters but we ended up ordering a dozen more after trying a few because we loved how they were dressed and how fresh they tasted. the raw tuna appetizer was also incredibly tasty. I got the whole flounder over rice and he got the swordfish filled...
First time here. Monday evening. Great natural light with a classic Richmond feel. Nice little crowd. Started with raw oysters topped with a relish. Great presentation and a different way to have them raw. Tomato pie special. Total winner. And then we had rockfish and the monkfish. Both fantastic. Drinks were good. Service and timing were spot on.
