Amuse Restaurant VMFA

It's always a most wonderful experience at Amuse! The food is exceptional and the ambiance follows suit. It is a most welcoming restaurant.

Wonderful starters, entrees, drinks, and service. Will definitely return. Only negative was noise level from musical event in atrium.

The crab cakes are divine and the slaw served with them really compliments them well. At other restaurants crab cakes can sometimes be too rich. These were perfect! The IPA available from a Richmond brewery was nice as well. Perfect meal!

Amuse -- the perfect place to have lunch before/after touring the special Giants exhibit. Elizabeth provided excellent, attentive, and friendly service.

Brunch here is always a treat. Cocktails are creative & delicious. Seasonal menu changes to match current exhibits make for diverse choices that never fail to please the palate. And as always service is excellent. Can't wait for the next visit. Thanks, Tom & Anne

The food was out of this world…delicious AND beautiful! I also really like how it is themed with the new exhibit. Our waiter, Steve, was very attentive, taking time to converse and laugh with us, making sure that we received every dish ordered in a timely fashion and that each order was enjoyable.
Dining at the Amuse restaurant was a highlight of my recent trip to Richmond. Bravo to Chef Will and his amazing staff. You are in for a huge treat if you take time to dine at Amuse!

Thank you Amuse for making my anniversary lunch extra special. This approachable but upscale restaurant located on the 3rd floor of the VMFA gave my husband and I an elevated and elegant dining experience. I personally enjoy the restaurant because of its ever changing but always good menu. Our waiter was so sweet and decorated our dessert with a chocolate happy anniversary sign. Thank you for being a space filled with joy and good food.

Lights way too bright changed the atmosphere from what we remember previously. For that reason we would probably pause returning anytime soon.

It was an excellent lunch time experience with great service and well presented delicious food. We had drinks, butternut squash soup, crab cake and fried oysters.

We went to Amuse to celebrate our wedding anniversary and Amuse made the evening so very special. Every staff member who spoke to us wished us a happy anniversary.Our server presented us wish specially printed menus that read “Happy Anniversary” as the heading. Our server was the best! So lovely and attentive and very careful and thoughtful about being sure my wife's nut allergy was noted. She even arranged a special nut-free sauce for her entree. We will be returning for more special occasions.

From the moment we approached the hostess stand, the staff made us feel special and comfortable. Our server Bryan was attentive & fun, and he made the experience a true delight. Amelia, from the kitchen staff, made excellent recommendations from the menu; the entire meal was absolutely delicious from appetizers to dessert! The fried oysters, braised fennel, baked beets, and pickle pot were outstanding, and the handmade gnocchi were creamy and rich. From vegetarian entree of lion's mane steak to the perfectly prepared cut of beef entree, the chefs showed their culinary expertise. The cinnamon swirl cake for dessert was to die for! This was a birthday celebration for my 83-year-old mother, and she has said that she had such a good time that she felt like she was treated like royalty. The entire afternoon was a birthday celebration to remember. Many, many thanks to the entire staff for treating us so wonderfully even down to the details of providing us with happy birthday menus! We can't say enough about how fantastic the staff is and we can't wait to come back-- A birthday to remember indeed!

Amuse is one of my absolute favorite local restaurants to dine at. As always, everything was absolutely delightful. From the food to the service to the ambiance, every aspect of my dining experience was unforgettable.
