Holy cow, this is my new favorite place for matar paneer, my favorite Indian dish. We also got the lamb biryani and plain naan and it was so fresh and tasty. The mango lassi was perfect, too. And the little free dessert for picking up was a sweet surprise! We just picked up our order to go, but the inside was very cute and I would dine in too. The location is pretty convenient since I was able to pick up some quick groceries at the Kroger while I waited.
Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants around VCU and my go-to spot for snacks—especially the Samosa Chaat, which is absolutely delicious! As a vegetarian, I often find my options limited, but this place offers a great variety of flavorful vegetarian dishes. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy authentic Indian flavors with a subtle American twist. The food is consistently satisfying, and the menu has something for everyone.
Fantastic dinner before the theatre! The staff was friendly and helpful (I was indecisive on my menu selection--SO MANY yummy options!), the entree (biryani) and chai tea were delicious, service was prompt, the rasmalai for dessert was wonderful. I highly recommend Bajra!
